I do love how it sounds like the type 93, makes it feel that much faster. All we need now is a red paint scheme to make it travel an extra inch.

with flames as well to make it faster

I’ve been playing it at 7.7, it’s where i’ve been getting most of my nukes in it, lots of Marders, BMPs, and other squishy things

It’s going to be a sad day when this gets banished to 8.0+

That chat is just a literature master piece 😁

Been using it at 8.3, arguably 100% fine at that BR imo.

Also love that chat xD.

Fox is the new CAS complaint.

Thats the thing with vehicles like these as your never gonna shoot at the front and always flank the usage doesn’t change and same with its effectiveness

As long as it can pen through the side it will do well as the only thing that changes at higher Brs is rounds your facing which doesn’t change anything for you and armour but you always going for the side so that doesn’t matter any way

Question, isnt the manual traverse supposed to be good in the Fox? Ran out of engine power and traverse just goes to “no”.

I don’t think manual traverse is modeled for any vehicle.
You just have power traverse or it goes to like 4°/s for any vehicle without power.

Yeah it’s pretty dumb, considering vehicles like Fox have only manual traverse and this somehow made worse without battery power?

I play it at 7.7 to avoid the spam at 7.0 more than anything; The biggest annoyance in the Fox is having to compete with 8 other Foxes on your team for the same spots.

Unsolicited rant time: It’s a stupidly good vehicle, I’m so happy to see not just a British light tank but also one built in my city, and there’s no chance in hell it’s staying at 7.0, but honestly I don’t agree with claims it deserves the uptier. Yeah it gets good ammo types and drives at warp speed, but other than that:

-It’s a nightmare to steer around terrain or obstructions (like most light armoured cars)
-Slows to a crawl in any water or deep mud/sand/snow
-Has zero armour
-Only survives hits based on whether or not the player has prayed that day
-It’s extremely light so gets stuck on almost every wood fence or twig, and is liable to do a backflip if it hits a small bump at medium/high speed
-Piss poor ROF
-Incredibly bouncy suspension and lack of stabiliser makes firing on the move nigh impossible and causes the gun to bounce around for an hour when coming to a stop
-Mediocre ammo count
-Bad accuracy and no rangefinder of any kind

A semi-competent team should, in theory, wipe out a Fox with no issues. In almost every 7.X game you’re fighting teams filled with heavies and even “heavy” mediums equipped with HMGs that the RARDEN can’t pen frontally, there’re SPGs everywhere that only have to land an HE round in the Fox’s adjacent postcode to score a kill, and literally any plane with at least one .50cal will mince a Fox. It’s a great tank because the average player is an idiot and wouldn’t/couldn’t communicate with their team if you held a gun to their head, so you’re given free reign to be as ratty as you like until you make a mistake and essentially feed yourself to the enemy team. It’s not like the Ru 251 being a mini-Leo 1 at 6.7, the R3 massacring everything at 3.7, or the PT-76-57 breaking the game at 7.7 - I think Fox’s drawbacks balance out the strengths and make a vehicle that does well when played well, but isn’t idiot-proof and crumbles when played poorly or goes up against a functional enemy team for once.

As for it being a nuke generator, that’s not because it’s Obj.279 levels of broken but because light tanks are built to generate SP, since on-top of regular kills/assists they can rush caps and farm scouting points, even using those to spawn ludicrously cheap CAS. Gaijin just kind of forgot light tanks exist when they made nukes only 2500SP. Also it benefits massively from bad map design and spawn detection not doing it’s job on most maps.

Basically it’s a good light tank in a “minor” nation tree, so of course it’s doing incredibly well.

First of all Fox already has NVD for the gunner. Second of all ASU?

Dont forget, the good stuff will more than likely be behind a grindwall like the ever lasting events and BattlePass. So dont worry just yet that the variants wont show up

Its amazing how the guy can just be like, wrong, simply because the Fox has NVD for the gunner… lol. He really doesnt help himself with shotgun deicisions like this 1.

Kind of hard to believe they would down tier the Fox. Right now in 7.0 the 12.7 on my T29 could only make a Foxes tires light orange and bounced off the turret. Thought it was a bug or volumetrics error until it happened 3 more times.

Fox, next unbalanced vehicle seeems very nice.

What I’ve found is that for the most part the fox is resistant to 50cal but the odd round will go through. The problem being nobody shoots the turret which can be penned rather easy.
