But as l2ulan said, the game uses virtual gearboxes with twice as much range. So 8 fwd (and I assume neutral for the 9th) and 4 reverse, is right
Interestingly, Mr Hewes’s WR hull is the one that was BAE’s CSP prototype with the MTIP2 40mm CTWS turret.
It has a few differences from a British Army FV510 hull with an 510 ISV troop door, but a FV511/512/…515 APU on the front-right of the hull. And as you see the controls are in Arabic suggesting it’s had a past life as a Desert Warrior demonstrator (but doesn’t have a full DWR hull with the improved cooling and APU), before it was used for WCSP development.
was under the impression that Gaijin doesn’t allow photos for evidence. however doesnt change the fact that the acceleration is slow on the warrior in game compare to irl. you can tell thats an old DIP as well because of the warning light/button layout
Depends on what the photo is trying to illustrate, and whether it’s sourced in a way that doesn’t contravene any secrecy policies.
Gaijin use the cockpit instruments for engine temps to extrapolate the thermal signature for jets, so I would imagine they’d accept a photo of a WR’s shifter that’s fully labelled with the available gears on both on the shift lever and the gear selection indicator, as evidence of how many gears it has - at least as a secondary source. Photos also get used to show vehicles could/did equip various weapons quite regularly.
But they don’t accept photos if it’s ambiguous evidence for what the bug report is addressing (i.e. without numerical indication or measurement to support performance claims from photos), or sketchy stuff that’s the result of breaching restricted access to the material (i.e. photographing sensitive stuff on military bases or in industrial settings without clearance to do so and publish it).
The Warrior VERDI-2. was wondering if someone wanted to make a suggestion for this? The VERDI-2 is an experimental variant of the Warrior which has a crew of 2, a rising commanders sight which allows it to observe the battlefield without exposing itself. it has the same protection as the in game Warrior, tho it likley won’t have access to any add on armour packages. It is armed with CTAI 40mm Autocannon, and the Starstreak misses (same as on the Stormer).
The VERDI-2 trials were carried out in 1994, which is before the 40mm calibre was decided upon for CTAS
The HCR journal from the time says 45mm, which is what the US and French had been developing.
There was a working prototype of that gun by 1991, but it’s not clear if the VERDI-2 trials used it rather than a mockup since the 2 week experiment was more concerned with software and optics than performance of the gun and live firings aren’t mentioned.
Would be a good little sidegrade to the Stormer HVM, Verdi 2 having 40mm CTAS Airburst ammo plus APFSDS and Starstreak or on Stormer having the option of LMM missiles with some AT and better AA capabilities.
