FV510 Warrior IFV - Technical Data and Discussion

Yeah especially with the RPM and the wide variety of ammo available to it the CTA-40 will be fun if it ever comes (it wont)

There’s not much info about the Desert Warrior, to be honest. But here it is. The author only includes some images of the Warrior/Desert Warrior along with a description. The interesting part is that he shows the inside of the vehicles.

I don’t think it would be unreasonable to add, at least on the Ajax platform

It would but considering we only just got desert warrior now, we will probably get Ajax around the same time we get a brit vehicle with no major issues on release, which is never.

Good to see they nerf’d the chally 3 engine within a month meanwhile both warriors are missing spall liners lol

For DRV our man @edfrancis001 is the best bet but it’s a case of when the brochure can be found. Don’t know if there are any other documents out there too, but it may be worth asking MoD if they have anything left from the evaluation.

For warrior CSP, so on topic :P

I believe these are composite, I believe the latches will be to allow the removal of the composite in those sections so you can gain better access to the engine bay. The bottom latches allowing the removal on the frame from the bottom section. The big block in front of the driver has no latches as there is no hatch there, so no need to remove it quickly like the other two blocks if needed in the field.

Picture to show how it would cover it up.

The left side where the driver is, is where any additional protection would be considered more important. It’s the same shape as the additional armour on our WRs, and the same amount of coverage extending up the hull in front of the driver. So that does suggest it’s purpose is protection. But I’m unsure of it’s purpose on the DWR because it has that separate dust cover over the top of it that makes it look like stowage - possibly for jerry cans (water) like the boxes on the front of Oman’s Challenger 2 turret.
But could just be an extra cover there because it’s part of the driver’s walkway to access the vehicle (using the stirrup on the towing eye, and that hand-hold to pull yourself up), and egress. And the exposed mounting bolts for the armour were considered a trip hazard.

The right side with the hinges is almost certainly toolboxes. It’s where the picks, shovels, hammers etc. are on our WRs. And during the Iraq war, stowage boxes from CVR(t)s were repurposed and fitted in a similar way on some of our Warriors.
On TES(H) where we do indeed have additional armour on that side as well, there are still equipment boxes mounted there on top of added armour

nice but it says that file doesnt exist

Did i read warrior csp my beloved… it also could be called Warrior 2 due to several displays referencing the name

Spoiler

yeah i agree with that opinion it could be that only driver side has L composite plate under shallow toolbox and right side is only toolboxes or it could be that those toolboxes are shallow too and have composite plate under

also i noticed that those 2 ports next to the mg dont have those 2 idk what it is but they should have
and also this i already wrote about DW should have dispensing of the shell casing out of the upper port where under is mg

What’s that about 6 infantry missiles?

Warrior. British Combat Vehicle Tracked by Carl Schulze also mentions it. A “roof-mounted laser detector”:

It would be nice to find one DW fitted with it.

yeah but i think its only some sort of misunderstanding maybe from tech demonstator bcs DW has only one pole on turret and thats GPS pole antenna

Yeah, it is just an optional equipment
