FV510 Warrior IFV - Technical Data and Discussion

Could someone tell me how many missiles the Desert Warrior has in total? Also, does the vehicle have spall liners?

4 missile and no spall liner

That’s regarding the Scimitar though rather than Warrior. Post 2008-ish UOR fits inside the turret for Scim 235 (then later on the Mk2) were using BGTI displays and gunner interface to replace the obsolete ESPIRE+TNTLS systems from the baseline Formation Recce Scimitar. But the sight heads, imaging core and other fittings weren’t lifted from BGTI.

He’s correct that the STAG sights for BGTI on Warrior and Scimitar Close Recce were not Catherine MP. They were roughly equal to Catherine FC in terms of technology.

Engine is still the same model :(

is it meant to have a different engine model? what would be the differance.

We should report to have spall liners. Both Warriors should have them.

From Military Ordnance Special Number 16, Warrior Machanized Combat Vehicle, John Prigent, p. 23.

Warrior:

It says: “The interior of a Warrior section vehicle. The troop seats are black as are the seat backs. The wall spall liners are a pale gray while the roof ones are buff-colored”

Desert Warrior:

It says “ABOVE: A general view of the troop compartment. The spall liners are light green, khaki green seats, and a buff roof lining.”

Also, from the manufacterer: Spall Liners | Composite Spall Liners For Military - Permali

All compartments are fitted with spall liners.

Engine model is wrong. The radiator is in the open “maintence” position. they’ve then shrunk the engine to fit

Spall liners would be super cool

would make it real interesting as it may make the added armour actually worth it.

Would you mind reporting it, @Gunjob?

May be worth putting a C+P report in for the Desert Warrior engine as well, I feel its more likely they will do something on a new vehicle when the dev server is up

Unfortunately installing the dev server on linux is a little bit of a PITA, so I’m not going be installing the dev server this time around. If anyone else wants to do it feel free.

Off topic: what distro do you use?

Tend to hop around, but always end up with Ubuntu/Debian based distros. Although I’m giving Fedora a try atm, probably going to stick with it cause the ui is nice and it doesn’t mind Nvidia drivers too much.

That’s cool to hear. By coincidence, I use Fedora as well, for a few years actually. I’m a Fedora contributor too (packager, translator), if you need anything, just send a message :) Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience with War Thunder on Linux, so I play on Windows with dual boot.

Our 10.3 will be strong. Can’t wait.

@xfgusta do you know how thick that firewall on this picture is and am I correct in thinking the APU is on one side and the engine in the other?

3 mbts, warrior, fox, “stormer” but it seems the stormer air defence has been passed so hopefully that soon, buccaneer and hunter. the lineup will be legendary.

Stormer is good, we need the correct pen back though now the apache cant first spawn with the starstreaks
