FV107 Scimitar

Yeah, things like the petrol Scimitar->Scimitar SPIRE/ESPIRE can easily be handled by mods.
I’d say Scimitar LEP->Scimitar 235 could also be handled that way really: Stock performance being along the lines of the plain 200hp diesel drivetrain and spaded performance being along the lines of the up-rated 235hp drivetrain.
Thermal imaging improvements on the 235 (Thales Catherine MP and driver’s DRS/Leonardo Driver’s Vision Enhancer) can also likely be done by a tier 3/4 mod to give the gunner 3rd gen thermals, over a stock or tier 1 mod for gen 1 ESPIRE thermals reminiscent of the baseline Scimitar LEP’s equipment.

Model conversion from the petrol engine to the LEP diesel requires some not insignificant hull changes: Different set of louvres, intake scoop on the right side of the hull, repositioned stowage bins etc. and coincided with the availability of the Plasan armour kit to add more protection. So it’s probably fair to have separation there in the tech tree if we ever have more than one Scimitar.
BGTI and Scimitar 2 are then good candidates for event/premium/squadron alternatives, with the Gen 2 BGTI Catherine FC thermals being between the Gen 1 and Gen 3 mods available for the tech tree Scimitar LEP/235’s generational SPIRE refits. And Scimitar 2 being basically equal to Scimitar 235 in capability, but a bigger target.

Some more pictures! would LOVE to see it with the cage/slat armour on it as an optional modification, much like the striker has its cage/slat armour. the jammer station would be cool too, specially if they ever make it work with the challenger 2’s one. they should disrupt any electronically/radio guided missiles

The images you have posted is actually of a Scimitar Mk 2, which uses a different hull than the original Scimitar.

Here is a comparison of the side profiles of a Scimitar (incomparison to a AJAX) and the side profile of a Scimitar Mk 2.

Ajax and Scimitar

Scimitar Mk 2

The way you can see the difference is the hight of the hull between the two. The Mk 2 is a lot taller, because the hull it uses is based on the hull of the FV103 Spartan, which is an APC. They changed the hull, mainly to increase the mine protection of the vehicles.

Oh yeah! still an amazing bit of kit, and I’m sure adding the Scimitar it would need all the help it can get, considering it would lack any form of ATGM I’m pretty sure, so IF it were added, I think I’d prefer the Mk.2 hull; but I’d still like to see it foldered with a Scorpion; IE the scorpion 90.

Yes please. Did you already write suggestions about Scorpion 76 and 90?

Why yes, he did.

With the penetration nerf of the 30mm apds coming (reduces pen to like max 80mm) im not sure about this anymore

I’ve been personally thinking that Scimitar shouldn’t be added, because of people bringing it to higher BR lineups (like 10.3) there will be plenty of A10s to missID you in all game modes.
But +1

Hopefully they will give the Scimitar APFSDS

Hopefully we get a Scimitar Mk. II to differentiate it enough from the Fox and Warrior. Ideally we get both, but if I had to choose, I’ll take slat armour + APFSDS

The Scimitar Mk.2 is cool but its a lot larger than the Mk.1 which removes the best aspect of the tank being its stealth

I’d like to see both ideally, with the MK.2 being more advanced technology wise but not as sneaky

If the Abrams with tusk taught me anything is that slat armour is going to be dead weight. :P

It looks cool though

This is the Mk.1 right? I think it is but I’m not good with Identifying British IFV variants

It’s the Mk. 1.

From my understanding the Mk. 2 has the cage armor, new engine, LRF, and thermals per the suggestion. I hope we get the Mk. 2 soon but very welcome addition with the Mk. 1.

I’m hoping that instead of unhistorically nerfing RARDEN (it’s actually underperforming right now) they instead nerf the turret traverse rates of both Fox and Scimitar. These are manually traversed turrets and should be far slower than the 60 degrees they currently are. I’ve gone into detail elsewhere as to why but can explain again here if needed.

That would make both tanks extremely unfun to play, especially the Fox which cannot neutral steer or even turn on the spot

It’s a historical nerf instead of artificially nerfing the gun.
