Personally I don’t really understand why Fuso and Ise are at 7.7. They’re really not much different to play than Hyuga and Yamashiro (who are at 7.0), just somewhat more survivable. With regards to the A turret shell room, Yamashiro is more survivable than Ise.
Additionally, here are some ships at a lower BR that I think would beat Fuso in a 1v1 more often than not:
- USS Nevada (7.3) (angled)
- Scharnhorst (7.3) (unless elevator fire)
- Bayern & co. (7.0) (angled)
- Kronstadt (7.3)
- HMS Barham (7.3)
- (and a couple others I’m not going to list because it would be controversial)
If you compare them to other 7.7 ships, most of them are a lot better.
All in all, I think 7.3 would be more fair for these ships. I suspect many will disagree with me, I want to see your arguments.

Oh you don’t even know how bad Archangelsk compare to Fuso on same 7.7
It’s worse at killing cruisers for sure, but it should win in a 1v1 most of the time.
Nah it have way worse ballistics spread and way less crew. Besides the 4 less guns.
That is true but Ise/Fuso can’t do anything to the Arkhangelsk’s magazine. You can easily destroy a few shell rooms before your crew starts running out. Not to mention that if you angle your Arkhangelsk the Fuso/Ise can’t kill much crew, most of it is hidden behind the thick main belt.
Man it’s British ship they thin like paper.
Fuso and Ise are modenized like Pari, so they have more displacement and lower water line than its original mod Hyuga and Ymashiro. I mean, you know how the underwater shell change the game. More displacement cause their main armor are deeper than original mod, so they have better survival ability and of course better AA.
I don’t know how was its performance in AB, but Royal Sovereign basically a better QE, and base my experience in RB, I think BR 7.7 is a suitable BR for her.
scarn only wins in CQC at range a ISE will do more damage bigger guns with a little slower fire rate with a lot more pen and explosive only reason ISE and FUSO are 7.7 is cause they be fighting the SMS helgoland or USS wyoming for Full down tier most maps are ranged it all comes down to who has best guns at range on the dumb circle maps

In NRB it’s played way better than in NAB
I disagree. Scharn is better at long range where it’s harder to aim at ammo elevators which is how kron/scharn gets taken out these days
Fuso shells are right at the waterline. Only Ise has shells slightly underwater, but a hit near the waterline will still reach them.
Ise has the nice 300m belt, but if you don’t angle you can get detonated anywhere, 300mm won’t stop anything. If you do angle, the first turret becomes a huge weakness. In fact, the first turret has a gap where the armor is only 32mm thick. You can get penned by 150mm secondary guns there.
Fuso is probably the most survivable due to the icebreaker, you can angle pretty well. But you will still get penned by most 7.7s and some 7.3s, especially if you angle so that you can still use all 12 guns.
They are more survivable, but not by a lot. I’m not advocating for 7.0 like Yamashiro and Hyuga, just 7.3.
I also feel like they get targeted by other ships more than average, because everybody knows they explode easily.
In any case I’d much rather be in a Kronstadt than Ise and Fuso, both in regards to survivability and firepower, and that’s 7.3.

Yeah and Marat/Komuna is fighting USS Atlanta. Compression is here to stay.
her guns cant pen at range
funny how battle stations pacfic is a 16 year old game still does better naval combat than World of warships and warthunder
Maybe our next WW2 era naval combat game within the next 16 years will be even worse than WT or WOWS.
And on that day, we all will go to search junkyards to find an outdated PC which can run Battestation without compatibility problems. :P
I think the biggest issue is balancing and ammo racking.
Naval is a mode where being uptiered means you can’t do much at all. No flanking, no sneaking on enemies. Even getting a reasonable kill assist and thus supporting your team is difficult, and now throw in the longest RP grind in game.
Unlike HEAT rounds available for stock tanks or stock missiles, your guns are HE shells which can’t do much, especially the thick walled HE shells like 410mm guns.
This above is made much worse by uptiering of battleships and now AIs almost exclusively use battleships.
Ammo rack meta and low accuracy is also a gameplay problem. While the ammo racking is realistic to some degree, it isn’t fun for most players.
