Here are two comparision images from my last games. One was a regular battle. The other one was a uptier. My highest ship was the Karlsruhe with 5.7, at that BR germany has no battleships only cruisers with up to 150mm turrets. My other ships are 5.0 and 5.3, got a 4.3 coastal ship in it too and a plane of course, so my BR is set to 5.7 which is fine most of the times.
This is not the first time I got put in uptiers in the 6.X region, the screenshot is horrible but by far not my worst battle I had with uptiers. Basically all uptiers I get are similar to it, sometimes I can stay alive 2-3 minutes but normally it’s somewhere around the 1:30 Minute mark.
Not only can cruisers at that BR often not even penetrate or damage battleships in any mentionworthy way (doesn’t help that you spawn +15km away). My ships also don’t have the armor to withstand any shots. In the above screenshot I got 3 times ammo racked by the first salvo hitting my ship. Yes, 3 of 3 lives were 1-salvo-kills. Didn’t mattered if I was broadside or facing them directly or at least angle them a bit.
I know that not many people play naval but this is just absurd. And it’s not helping that 6.X region is where “all water no cover” maps (who does like them anyway?) start happening basically always. I mean look at the image, with all 3 ships I was not even alive for 3:30 Minutes, how can this be wanted? There needs to be a cap of ~ 0.5 BR difference at least in this BR. Or everything below 6.0 (that’s where germany gets it’s first battleship but in a whole different tier) is not getting matched with anything over 6.0.
I’m probably one of the few people that actually enjoy naval, I finished the german coastal tree and then focused on battleships higher than the highest coastal ship (4.7) and then ran into this. How is anyone supposed to even PROGRESS past that? All I can hope is for a normal battle and then play, otherwise well… slaughterfest…
