Fuchs JAGM

History

The TPz Fuchs is a German armoured personnel carrier designed by Daimler-Benz and built and subsequently modified by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV). The Fuchs was the second wheeled armored vehicle to enter service with the Bundeswehr. Its applications include troop transport, engineer transport, bomb disposal, nuclear, biological, and chemical reconnaissance, and electronic warfare. RMMV and its predecessors have produced over 1000 Fuchs for the German Army.

Rheinmetall’s 6x6 Fuchs has developed into the Fuchs Evolution, a battle-tested and dependable option. With over sixty variants available in nine countries, it has established a strong global reputation. The Fuchs has better drivetrain, digital architecture, situational awareness, and payload capacity. The tank destroyer, based on the Fuchs armored transport vehicle, is highly mobile and can quickly deploy against enemy tanks and vehicles. The vehicle has mobility, a specific anti-tank weapon, and advanced reconnaissance equipment. With 24 missiles, the vehicle can engage up to 24 battle tanks without reloading. The launcher integrates the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) missile family and M299 launcher into vehicles and surface ships, utilizing MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS). The launcher’s mechanical structure and gas management system use approved VLS designs to improve weapon density while ensuring dependability and survivability in combat settings.

Between this and the Wiesel 1A2 MELLS there are some very good tank destroyers in Germany’s future.
