Why does France have an extremely high probability of engaging Russia as an opponent in Ground Battles BR 12.0-13.0?
As shown in the figure, after this version update, my personal statistics from 31 battles where I exclusively played French vehicles indicate 29 engagements with Russia—a probability of 93.55%.
As shown in the boundary diagram, the game’s kill/damage records indicate that among opposing nations, the probabilities of facing the United States, Germany, or China are close to random 50%.

That is just because everyone is playing russia due to the new ldircm meta helicopter.
Well that’s been the case for 2 months now, which is unjustifiable

so… what does that mean for the game? I hardly understand what`s wrong with that. As any other minor nation ingame, France is “blended” in any team, both NATO or USSR driven.
Well yes but I just provided the reason for this. France being a minor nation with less players get put on the side with fewer people
But it affects everyone who’s not commonly sided with russia, the russian CAS dominance has certainly affected my top tier winrates recently
Well I have stopped trying to spade my leclercs because it’s just not fun when the match turns into shooting fish in a barrel for CAS after 3 minutes.

The biggest flaw in your observations is that you didn’t track if “is Russia an ally?”.
Pretty sure USA and Russia are so popular they are present on both teams 75% of the games.
This is due to how popular Soviets are.

Then tell people to play other tech trees.
Cause the matchmaker is automatic, and influenced by players.
They’re extremely popular because they have the ‘monthly’ metaslop for far longer than anyone else, and as the tragedy of the commons goes, people don’t want to opt out of the meta because it doesn’t benefit them, meaning everyone else suffers.

Far longer? That goes to USA: 6 years now, the update that added M1A2.
Soviets have never been meta. They’ve shared meta moments in specific areas, but not lineups.
Even having a meta helicopter like USA, China, Japan, and France doesn’t make them uniquely meta. Especially when their tanks are worse than USA’s and Germany’s.
And at best on-par with China’s.
And USA still has the best lineup overall.
