Fps drop!

As I mentioned before, I tested different presets and the drops still happen, even on the lowest graphics settings. The problem started after the last major update, so I believe it might be some kind of overlay or background feature added with recent improvements that’s causing this.

It would be good if the developers took a look at this. There are quite a few recent reports on the other forum from players experiencing the same issue, which is why I personally didn’t bother opening another report there.

In my view, when a problem is being reported by many players with solid PC/console setups, it should be prioritized and fixed as quickly as possible.

Is it stutters or actual fps drops?

Stutters are when the game runs like normal for a second then at like 1-2 fps for one second and then normal again for another half a second and so on. the fps counter will then say the halfway number because that will be the average over that duration.

fps drops is when it actually goes down to way lower fps and stays there for several seconds before going back to normal.

They are actual FPS drops. My FPS in Ground Battles is usually 100~150 FPS consistently, depending on the map.

The issue, as I mentioned, is that it suddenly drops to below 40 FPS, either from the start of the match until the middle, or from the middle of the match all the way to the end.

It really depends on when the game decides that the sudden FPS drop is going to happen during the match.

And like I added in the previous comment, this issue started after the last major update, but from what I saw on the bug report forum, there are players reporting the same problem way earlier than that.

I really don’t think this is a driver issue I’ve already checked and everything is up to date. It’s also not a cooling problem: my PC has 7x 120mm fans + the 3 GPU fans, and the CPU is cooled by a water cooler that costs around 100 USD, which is a lot of money for a water cooler here in Brazil.

The thermal paste was replaced, the PC was properly cleaned, everything was done correctly… so yeah, this is on the game, not on the player. I’m honestly pretty pissed off, to be real dealing with invisible players, Su-30SMs spamming KH-38MT, and the wonderful helicopters with infrared missiles is already annoying enough LOL.

Now having to deal with these sudden FPS drops on top of all that is just one more thing I shouldn’t have to “accept”, especially when other players have already sent reports about this recently.

Do you run war thunder on an HDD? Might also be RAM problems?

Or because of directx problem
Because it happend my war thunder too and i just changed it it fixes it

Impossible, I have 32GB of RAM 3,200MHZ 2x16GB! And War Thunder was also installed on SSD :)

I think the problem is located in the game, not the player or PC player.

Just 3200 mhz isnt it bit too low ?

Is the ram actually running at 3200MHZ? Have you set up an XMP profile?

Not for DDR4

Ah i have ddr 5 ram at 6000 mhz

Yeah DDR5 is a lot faster lmao

I use DirectX11, in the game configuration… No, it’s not a DirectX problem.

But like a mentioned sometimes Directx can makes thing weird u shöuld try to change it maybe it helps

Sure,

Sorry PT-BR language in screeshot.

You could potentially check the health of the disks? If that is ok then might be a bug in the game or smth

It’s perfect where War Thunder is installed

I have a freind who have similar issues with huge fps drops when spawning even if he have a perfectly fine pc. I personaly think this is more a game/server issue, don’t forget that the game is running on a 15 year old code.
To be more precise i think it has to do with game/server optimisation when dealing with certain hardware, especialy the new one, because i don’t have such issue on my 10 year old laptop (grantes i don’t have much fps to begin with but i would notice going from 28 to 10 fps)

It’s like I said here in one of the comments, the game lacks optimization because the problem is not with the player’s PC but with the game. Because I’m not a computer layman, I tried to fix the problem in different ways, but I couldn’t,
so there is nothing else I can turn to if not the developers themselves appealing for it to be resolved.

I used to play with a GTX 1060 4GB and an I5 7400 with 12GB of ram which at most reached 2,200MHZ with luck,
I had no problems with FPS dropping and now with a PC much superior to the one I had, it is simply dropping from a constant 100~150 fps to less than 40 FPS and sometimes reaching 20FPS.

And it doesn’t make sense for me to create another BUG REPORT since on the other forum there are recent players pointing out this problem,
However, there are no definitive answers or solutions so far and from what I saw in one of the comments on this topic, I have a stronger PC than my CURRENT one, updating my PC again won’t do ANYTHING to the problem.

Then I have no clue. I have shared most of the knowledge i have. I know that i had stutters and a new NVME fixed it. Try making a bug report and send them a DxDiag or something

I appreciate the attempts to help, but as you saw we have a user who has a PC 3x better than mine and honestly, not even updating the PC will solve the situation. This should really be addressed with the DEVS so that it can be corrected, it is not healthy for the community to face yet another problem with several reports on both forums.
