Fox is still overpowered

TL;DR

  1. Xm has less pros than the fox.
  2. Fox is so stable it wouldn’t matter if it had a stabilizer.
  3. That’s a key bind problem, I don’t have that problem.
  1. Not really.
  2. You can say “BuT iTs StAbiLe EnoUgH”, at this point your straight up just ignoring reality. Concrete isn’t the only terrain you drive on. The different between how a vehicle plays with and without a stabilizer is vastly different. HENCE WHY THE XM800 WAS RAISED IN BR, maybe because its a significant advantage.
  3. “I don’t have that problem therefore it doesn’t exist”. Just because you have experience doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Just as multiple other people have pointed out that wheel vehicles are inherently harder to control vs tracked vehicles.

why do you believe that

You mean this formula?

  • Heavy bullets carry more energy and hold it farther downrange, but drop more.

  • The differences in energy and drop are minor and not worth worrying about unless there’s a huge spread in weights, i.e. 120-grain vs. 190-grain.

  • Aerodynamically efficient projectile shape increases range (shoots flatter) and downrange energy. (Because an efficient shape cuts through wind, kinetic energy in the bullet isn’t wasted pushing air out of the way.)

Better increase the drop of the fox while we are at it. Shoots pretty flat eh?

Not exactly. Distance x projectile mass = your drop weight. So the further the Rarden fires the more severe the drop ranged from 0

Because I’ve used in both off-road bumpy conditions and on road… it’s not that bad. Btr is by far the worst offender in that category.

Oh. My. God.

This is so frighteningly simple, I am suprised you dont understand.

Change in horizontal velocity, the direction the gun fires, is only caused by aerodynamic drag. Compared to a BTR’s slug, the fox’s round has about the same drag.

Change in vertical acceleration is constant, at 9.8m/s, and is not impacted by mass.

The Fox’ shot has both higher mass (Which leads to more penetration), higher velocity (Which also leads to more penetration), but very similar aerodynamic drag compared to a BTR’s shot.

Thus, it will actually have less penetration falloff, especially because its mass is higher.

Yep, every minor improvement is a massive uphill battle. Even basic things like getting our aircraft to have correct RWRs takes months and months.

Even really really minor things like the Gr7 able to carry 7x 540lb bombs took well over a year to be added.

Don’t forget this has already been talked about.

Never thought Id see Mythbuster used for something in War Thunder :D

I’d never thought there would be a thread thats 2k messages deep that would escalate to the point where we need to link Mythbuster videos :P

Could reach 4000 messages and the guy will still think the fox should be a higher BR than the Xm1 lmafo!!.

Bro was the real life fox, flanking farmers for food and attacking unsuspecting passers by XD

This is assuming both bullets are the same weight.

2a42 and Rarden projectiles are not the same weight.
@RemoveCASfromGRB

Myth busters is the best.

The fox shouldn’t be higher than the xm at 8.0, but they should definitely be equal.
The potency and efficiency as gaijin puts it, of the fox outclasses many many tanks. That’s why it’s a go to, people would hate it to be nerfed because it seal clubs = easy wins

Loooooooool

it seal clubs at 7.7 my dude that is mid-tier that be whale hunting
seals are at 1.0-3.7 br

so the solution is to nerf the round to the point its ineffective at all and also ruins the warrior?

It, and the XM800T vastly outclass any other light tank at their BRs in a one on one situation. Good luck killing a Fox/XM800T in an Ikv-91 or Ush. They are faster, have vastly better gun handling, and much higher velocity shells. Reload doesn’t matter since any autocannon is faster than a main gun.

I also wish that people will stop saying skill issue to any genuine criticism towards them. Do they even play other vehicles?

Go try and face a Fox/btr80/xm800t in a light tank without an autocannon. You won’t win unless the other player messes up.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind if they got the R3 treatment by moving down to 6.X, losing apds, and becoming an SPAA. I just want to be able to play my light tanks without facing stuff that kills me instantly before I can do much.

same goes for the higher BR auto cannon tanks hurling darts at lightly armoured MBTs, most 9.3s get absolutely peppered by autocannon light tanks, heck even some top tier MBTs get one tapped by them.

auto cannons themselves are an issue across almost every BR, however.
nerfing the rarden isnt the answer as it will completely make the Warrior obsolete.
the fox needs to go up in BR to 8.0 along side the xm800T
