Im sorry you need shells to do less damage so you can survive longer on the battlefield.
Heavy tanks are already incredibly relavent at low tiers. The lowtier heavy tanks such as kv1, kv220, t14, etc are all well known for sealclubbing. Armor at low tier is incredibly effective.
Having a tank that is effectively unkillable is incredibly unfun for gameplay. Cupola weakspot and “trick-shots” forces heavy tank players to respect other tanks and not just hold W “u can’t pen me haha”

He Can hold w as long as he want with a dead gunner or driver, it doesnt affect pen, i know will be harder for some tank but jumbo aint represant all the tanks for ammo

They wouldn’t become unkillable; it would just take to aim to actual target zones instead of having penetrations be nearly a kill guarantee. And in many examples you listed, the cupola argument doesn’t even apply, since those tanks have no cupolas.
When it comes to balance, BR Compression is a whole different matter that would sove many balance issues and which is slowly addressed (way too slowly…).

I voted yes, because right now it’s extremely stale and bad, and any new problems can be fixed as well.
It’s not like the BR’s are going to stay the same for example.
Low TTK is low skill.

Cupolas should not count as actual target zones because they are empty hollow metal away from the fighting compartment.
Sure, the commander will be reduced to atoms because he’s actually there; but there is no reason why having such spot hit should anihilate the entirety of the crew below even though they aren’t even on the strike zone just because the shell turned into a thermonuclear bomb when it got inside the tank.

Let’s talk about the Tiger alone.
US 76mm at 5.0 can easily frontally pen, no problems.
RU 85/122mm at 5.0/5.3 can easily frontally pen, no problems.
FR 90/75mm at 5.3/5.0 absolutely slams through, no problems.
17Pdr, first introduced at 2.7. Come on.
Even Japanese 75mm gun found at 4.7 can frontally pen Tiger.
One of the very few guns at tier that has a problem with it is the Jumbo, and that’s because it also has ridiculous armor that can easily bounce the 88mm.

Knowing Gaijin, the BRs will be in shambles for atleast a month after the change, and many things aren’t going to be properly balanced.

the non existent realism (and whatever I decide to make up today) dictates what counts as an actual weakspot the size of the spot? doesnt matter, how hard the spot is to hit? doesn’t matter only mein realism, you are the type of guy that would think the m51 is op because it was made after ww2 and has heat and its not realistic
It is incredibly unfun when agency is taken away from the player, situations where you die, and there is nothing you could have done about it. Examples like getting bombed, killed by a heli atgm, and includes dying since a unpennable fatass decides to hold W at you. Its not just about cupolas its about other “trick shots” as you mentioned. Includes shit like KV1 turret corners, jumbo mg port, etc. As for cupolas, for example the tiger H1 turret is practically unpennable with us 76/ rus 85 without cupola. Other cupola examples include is2(esp 1944ver), panthers, su-122-54, t95, m60, etc etc.

That was going to happen either way with the APHE buffs they have committed to. It was never a good argument for NO.
