Following the Roadmap: Voting to Test our Proposed APHE Shell Changes

I’ve no issues fighting tigers and panthers in my Firefly and Avenger. I think relying on cheese is bad for the game.

fair, kinda ranted a bit too much and i couldve easily seperated into 2/3 paragraphs

All that they’re changing is the explosion pattern, from the unrealistic ‘grenade’ type circular pattern to a more realistic forward- focused pattern while still keeping a certain degree of 360-degree lethality around the penetration point. That’s all. More methodical shooting will be rewarded just as before, and lesser so shots will be not so much. Lethality will still be plenty high but not as potent. Still the best, just with a smaller lead than before.

And as they have showed from the cupola demonstration… that makes a really big difference on those weakspots.

Just so everyone understands, the APHE buffs will go through no matter what. The nerf will only go through if people vote no.

So either APHE gets even more powerful or it gets a little closer in performance to AP.

I think there should be a failure chance for the bursting chance to go off. The reason several countries didnt have a APHE round was due to the poor reliability of the fuses.

Gaijin doesn’t model other RNG failures, so why shoud they model it with APHE?

So you’re upset you can’t kill any german vehicle without them even being able to shoot back at you? Incredible complaint bro. You make it seem like germany mains make all the changes.

What APHE buff??

Bad argument to make when you compare how much care Gaijin is giving to damage modeling of tanks vs how they treat the damage modeling of planes where a single 20mm mineshell can literally split your planes in half in a cartoonish fashion.
They’ve also stated before they will choose gameplay over realism multiple times before.

I agree though I still think it’s a good change because it will nerf APHE rounds from being absolute nukes on penetration. But this will cause a small mess with BRs because you will have inadvertently made tanks like the Tiger I more powerful against guns that struggle to penetrate.

The secondary fragment damage will increase and the head of the round will not be destroyed which causes it to continue to travel through the tank.

You can see on the examples that the reworked APHE will take out the tiger’s engine while the current APHE will not.

Ah, yes they’re making APHE more realistic. Wasn’t thinking that was much of a buff.

I never said that those changes are not realistic. I am saying that the changes that increase the damage will go through regardless while the changes that decrease damage are the part that is voted on.

So if the vote gets turned down, APHE will only get realistic changes that increase damage while not getting realistic changes that decrease damage.

If you’re getting killed through your cupola, you deserved it.

Yes votes still winning, feels good, bon voyage cupola shooters and learn to flank

This is only for a test.

There will be a second vote to finally decide if the mechanics are implemented once the test has been done.

I’m certain the test will give positive results, the reign of APHE nukes will be over soon enough

And according to the community votes, you’re the one who doesn’t deserve to get free kills through cupolas.

Personally, I don’t care about the outcome, mechanics wise.

I just hope the necessary BR changes are done. Or else this will suck.

Unless gajin announces BR changes along with shell changes after the test is over i wouldn’t trust them to do so.

They only balance according to data they won’t have by then after all.
