A person who has explored 4 or 8 countries gets the same as a person who has one country. This bonus should stack for each additional country.
Right now, it rewards more a person who has only 1 country explored. Because they get a bonus to all other nations. And someone who has spent more time and discovered 9 nations will get the 20% to one country. It makes sense…
I’m sorry I should have clarified. What do the long-time, non-newb players that have not unlocked any Rank VIII vehicles get? Or do I have to wait 300 to 600 games before I can start receiving this “bonus”?
Then do what i did when i played WoT, quit after 28k battles there i’ve had enough and left without looking back once.
With all the flaws and short comings i’ve had more positive feedback or even the feeling they actually listened here then i ever experienced with Wargaming at all.
Why i left them:
Gold ammo for either gold or insane amounts of credits;
Buying garage slots and crews for every single vehicle;
rendering distance in game;
Artillery;
About too easy or too fast, that’s all subjective AF, lets say grind to top tier in a month of an average of 2-3 hours a day? I see positive changes, you say not enough, i say: what do you think is enough?
I just take breaks if the “Grind” repetition gets to me, and regularly play other games.
On average i needed like 100-150 battles to spaded higher tiered vehicles, With Premium!
That is 10 to 15 hours a week, so a part-time job. You also finish first which is not possible for a large majority of players due to the math. Even with all that time and skill it took a year which is ridiculous.
yeah, but i have all the vehicles i ever wanted in this game.
so now i play only for pleasure. and that is my advice to you, play for pleasure and try to enjoy it.
It’s a reward for reaching top tier for the first time that then persists forever.
If you have not reached top tier then you don’t get the reward.
It’s the same thing in practically any game ever, everyone doesn’t get access to the same things regardless of progression status.
It is pretty much a standard in all of gaming that to get a certain thing you have to do a certain set of tasks or reach a specific set of requirements to obtain it.
I can’t of the top of my head think of a single game that doesn’t have this structure.
There is no reasonable progress, this game is designed around getting you to spend money, so the only options are is to spend money or ignore progress and just play the tanks you have.
If you look in all of the tech trees there are sometimes a small button at the bottom of a “Vehicle image”, that is a folder that contains more vehicles than the first one shown. those didn’t exist at all there were way fewer of them about a year ago. At that time you had to research every single vehicle in the tree to get to the next in line. now you can skip all of the vehicles that are not the first in a folder.
Edit:
misremembered the existence of folders before changes, they did exist but in way fewer numbers.
I’m going for the PBM in battlepass (which I did not buy) and nearly all of the games are only Rank II-V to earn tasks. My premium ran out last night. I was also trying to get at least one more plane before the 50% sale. Then I was going to determine if I should continue as every day is nothing but frustration at Rank VII. I was hoping this “bonus” would have been better, or there would have been some kind of reduction for the other non tier VIII players.
I don’t want to skip the grind, but players shouldn’t have to spend 150 to 200 games for a single aircraft above Rank VI. Thats a month’s worth of playtime at 5 games a day which is about an hour. Multiply that by the number of Rank VI-VIII vehicles and its just bonkers. The game is obviously catering to the try-hards and the content creators. There is no room or consideration for average players.
What is being done to help players reach Rank VIII faster? What is on the roadmap for this? The answer is nothing. Newer players get the goodies while the older players are left to swing in the wind.
it has already been done.
the skill bonus, the foldering of vehicles, a straight reduction in RP cost for vehicles in rank VI-VII, one free use of FPE/repair, flares as a standard for planes and researching helicopters by playing tanks.
those are the things on the roadmap from last year that have already been done and that affect all players.
This bonus was the last thing to add for them to complete the list of things from the roadmap.
Many players think those things are not enough, sure, but you can’t really claim that “nothing” has been done.
I agree in the sense that the ground vehicle progression is absolutely terrible, even after the economy changes and vehicle foldering. It’s just not enough. Even with premium vehicles and premium time. They could absolutely reduce or remove the RP penalty for researching higher tier vehicles over tier and vice versa.
There were lots of foldered vehicles a year ago too, you didn’t have to research every single vehicle. They’ve just added more of them with the roadmap changes.
The important thing to note I think is this research bonus change now stacks nicely with skipping over the foldered vehicles where you can and circling back to them with the benefit of this bonus after you get a top tier, because the RP costs for foldered vehicles were slashed this last year as well.
Play AB modes for the 3x progress, can generally solve the problem. Save the big RP boosters you get for the AB games to max their value for this as well.
Every 100 RP in earned RP is a crewskill point (RB/SB), so this new bonus helps a little there, too of course.
