Following the Roadmap: Vehicle Research Bonuses

This is definitely a lot better.

I don’t understand what you are writing about, or you don’t understand how this bonus works.

(1st sentence means that current new vehicules will not be new in 3 months and then access the bonus aswell)

i’m basically asking for improvment over the bonus,…
as the 5 games bonus you got only apply for the tree category you’ve reached, it would make snese to help getting bonus for other category but only for the nation you’ve reached that Top Tier.

in other words, when you reach top aircraft in USA:
→ every nation aircraft tree got the bonus active (as per todays system)
i advocate for adding:
→ Naval/Tank Bonus but only for USA

this would make players interested only into aircraft (at first) to go in other modes because they have a bonus in grinding.

hope it’s clear now.

It wasn’t 28 days?

i just edited previous post.

the 28 days or not,… to be honest i don’t really care, what i know is that new vehicules will also get that help at some point in future. ^^

Its so little that iam astonished it took Gaijin this long+riots to give us essentially nothing.

Hey CMs,

Since, once again, the overall reaction to this mechanic is mostly negative, especially in the sense that it still doesn’t go far enough (which was the general consensus with the previous dev blogs on this); what’s next? The feedback is there. Players still don’t think it’s beneficial for progression (it also doesn’t work half the time). Are you guys completely washing your hands of it like a majority of other half-cooked implementations like spall liners and attacker aircraft? Can we expect this to actually get reworked or are we wasting our breath?

Support the game with cash they said. Only 20% of the playerbase pays into the game they said. So I started paying. I bought premium time, a couple of vehicles on sale, couple of battlepasses. And they reward us with nothing. I did what you asked and got zero return on my investment. The only thing I got was increased grind with ever reducing multipliers and a company that won’t take it seriously. Just look how insidious this fake “bonus” is:

Below is my Swedish tree:

In order to get the fake “bonus” I have to earn all Rank VIII aircraft to the tune of about 1.3 million RP and about 3.5 million SL, not including spading. For my average RP earnings that is about 350 games.

I won’t get the extra 25% Rank I-III bonus because I’ve already earned all aircraft in Rank I-III in Sweden. The bonus also won’t apply to rank IV-VII because I will have earned all Swedish and Finnish aircraft in those tiers by the time I get to Rank VIII. So basically the “bonus” doesn’t exist. The same will be true for the Israeli tree and probably Italy and Japan. By the time you get the ability to earn the fake “bonus” you will have already earned all the aircraft for that particular tree. Not only that, but it only works on the same aircraft type, in this case a Rank VIII fighter. Since you have to earn all of the Rank VIII fighters to get the “bonus” you end up getting nothing. How immoral.

Update: Its even worse than I thought. The shortest path to earn the fake “bonus” for the US tree is to go for the AV-8B, which is a Rank VIII strike aircraft. How many other Rank VIII strike aircraft are there in the US tree? Zero. The bonus doesn’t exist.

If we look at the history of the last 2 post related to this “bonus” gaijin Will most likely Just ignore us. At best they Will implement a minimal change that Will fix nothing
Honestly i Hope to be wrong tho

I don’t think it even works half the time. I have all but the A-10C and the new F-111. The rest of the US air tree is completed. Yet the A-10C has the bonus research icon on it and I have no other nation that’s at top tier. Some are close, but the US tree is the only one that’s completed. And despite playing three matches in my spaded F-16C, I didn’t get any bonus RP on the A-10C or any other vehicle for that matter. It was still 5/5 after all the matches.

I don’t know if I’m misunderstanding or it just doesn’t work. Or the A-10C having the icon is just a bug. Besides being trivial amount of RP, it seems to be overly complicated. Why couldn’t we just get a pool system and after x amount (way more than 5) matches, we just spend it how we please?

I think that’s going to be the case. I’m at the point where I don’t want new vehicles for a major update, I just want the dozen plus half baked mechanics implemented just this year to work and or be finished.

That is because you won’t get a bonus on a Rank VII strike fighter aircraft if you use a Rank VIII fighter. It has to be the same “aircraft type” at that rank. Since you already have the entire tree finished you get nothing.

The issue you described is true, and I would greatly benefit from something like this, but I have to disagree with your approach. If Gaijin takes your route and tries to fix the issue relying on the cumulative bonuses, it would render most top tier stuff unobtainable for the relatively new player. Even with PA, vehicles and a lot of playtime. The cumulative bonus should be a measure to keep the old guard in the game - a lot of people started to play much younger, but got a lot of stuff going on now in their lives, they still enjoy the game, but simply don’t have as much time, so they usually quit, and it makes no sense for Gaijin to lose these clients. A cumulative bonus could help it. However, the mean time to the first tech tree completion for a new player should stay the same no matter how many vehicles they add. Otherwise, it just cuts off all the people who get into the game after being interested with ads featuring the new jets and modern tanks Gaijin added. Any online game needs new players, if the stream stops, this game’s days are counted.

This is incorrect.

As you can see above, the symbol is there, but it is inactive. If you hover over the symbol, it clearly explains the reason the bonus is inactive, is because new vehicles don’t receive the research bonus (new is defined as within 28 days of release).

You do indeed receive the bonus on strike aircaft and bombers, even if the match you played was in a fighter. The rank of the aircraft you’re researching and the rank of the aircraft you’re playing also aren’t taken into account since it uses base rp for its calculation.

I don’t think you get the idea. Taking that AV-8B American air tech tree for example, if you get AV-8B, you’re getting the bonus for the rest of American fixed wing aircraft tech tree as well as all other nations. The designation doesn’t matter, as long as its the same type of tech tree. Planes boost planes, helis boost helis, ground boosts ground, ships boost ships, boats boost boats, that’s how it works.

The rank is part of the aircraft type. Since you’ve researched the entire US tree you wouldn’t get anything even if the A-10C wasn’t new, not to mention the RP penalty for researching previous ranks in the tree. Its a fake “bonus”.

Can you provide a source for this claim?

Can you also provide a source for the “penalty for researching previous ranks in the tree” modifier?

If you research using a NON premium, more than 1 rank above or below, you are given an RP penalty. See his screenshot showing the Max Vehicle Research Efficiency: VII-VIII
Now go to a Rank 3 and see what it says.

I’ll find it, it was on the old forums but it might take a while.

Its on the wiki. You didn’t think Gaijin would actually let us have any kind of grind reduction did you?

Which makes sense but the next aircraft after it is the AV-8B+ and that does not have the downward arrow after it like the F-16C does. And as I’ve said I have no other tree maxed out. I have a few that are close but not fully completed. So what is the A-10C being linked to for the bonus?
