Have y’all seen the raw power of the Dutch Fokker GIA at 2.3. The GIA is in the French air tree at 2.3. It generally looks unimpressive but its speed from those two Fokker engines and how light it it’s makes it quite fast, the light construction makes it quite maneuverable. But the weapons are bonkers; 12 7.7mm machineguns that shred any plane you encounter and are decent against open-top tanks, the bombload for stock is alright with I believe 6 50kg bomb but my favorite is the single 400kg bomb. Playing this weak plane is like playing the P-38 but at 2.3 and with more maneuverability. Let me know if you have played this monster of a a plane and comment anything about this great aircraft!

Meh, the plane was good when it turned like a zero.
After they changed the flight model, two weeks after it was introduced, it’s a sitting duck against any fighter.
Way too slow, doesn’t turn that well and also doesn’t climb.

Here are 2.0/2.3 planes armed with four LMGs:
Not only is the I-16 slightly faster but it also turns and climbs so much better.
The same is true with the Bf 109 E-3, which is also massively faster.
The Fokker G.IA has nothing going for it, other than the many MGs in the nose to maybe shoot down bombers.
With the only saving graze being an air spawn, and I guess going head-on against new players who don’t know how to aim yet.
Oh and did I mention that it compresses at 400 kph IAIs? So you are not very fast but can’t doge as well?
The only thing going for it, is that some parts are made out of wood and so it actually doesn’t fuze explosive shells, since they all have 0.1mm fuze sensitivity.

It was so good in the beginning but it’s a bit difficult to work with now because of the compression and mediocre engine performance

It’s a free kill for most planes. But at low tier most players of course don’t know anything about air combat for it to matter.
Its been my favourite (early) WW2 plane since I was a little kid, when mt grandfather had FS2004 with a mod for this beauty.
One of my favourites in game too, flies like a dream. Fast enough to get away or to chase a guy, good with BnZ, at below 295-300kph can outturn almost anything except for I-16s and biplanes

Was the flight model more accurate back then or now?
Probably more accurate now, or gaijin wouldn’t have changed it.
Would make more sense to give markers at some range.
