The FLV-1 vehicle mounted air defense missile system is a light short-range mobile air defense missile system developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. The system adopts a 4x4 wheeled chassis with armor protection, which is simplified based on the “Hongqi-7B” 6x6 wheeled chassis. In 2006, the vehicle made its debut at the 6th “China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition” (referred to as Zhuhai Air Show for short).
The chassis of the vehicle has a rear mounted power compartment, with the driver’s seat on the left front of the vehicle and the driver’s seat on the right front. Due to the H-type transmission used in the vehicle, there is a large space inside, which can store 8 spare missiles. The suspension system of the car adopts a Macquarie suspension system, which has good damping performance and uses 4x2 drive mode when driving on the road. The wheels are equipped with bulletproof tires and can continue to travel for 100 kilometers at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour after being hit. The car is equipped with a central tire pressure adjustment device, which allows the driver to adjust the tire pressure according to the road conditions, increasing the tire contact area and making it easy to cross areas such as deserts or beaches. The FLV-1 short-range light vehicle mounted air defense missile weapon system is mainly composed of a multifunctional fire control, detection and tracking system, suitable for different launch carriers, and is a weapon system for launching various short-range light air defense missiles.

It serves as a regimental air defense weapon for the Army’s field air defense system, used for air defense in front-line positions, accompanying cover air defense, and air defense in key areas of the theater. The system mainly consists of target detection, photoelectric tracking and irradiation, missiles, launch turrets, fire control, communication, and vehicle carrying systems. Can be used to deal with targets such as armed helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, etc. It can carry both infrared and laser semi-active guided missiles simultaneously, fully leveraging the advantages of both guidance systems. It has the characteristics of strong anti-interference ability, high guidance accuracy, and flexible configuration. This vehicle has single vehicle combat and collaborative combat capabilities, as well as search and combat capabilities during movement. It also has good off-road mobility and high reliability. The weight of FLV-1 is 11 tons, with a maximum driving speed of 95 kilometers per hour and a maximum driving distance of 600 kilometers.
This anti-aircraft vehicle is integrated with a radar search system, with a large ammunition load (16 missiles), a small body, easy to hide, and high efficiency in single vehicle combat. The vehicle’s control system adopts a steering wheel type hydraulic power steering, which has good operational performance and strong maneuverability. It can ambush helicopters in low altitude raids. In addition, due to the use of the QW4 missile guided by image locking, its missile anti-interference performance is also very good, and similar missile locking mechanisms are already available in the game, which can be directly applied. When encountering special situations, it can also use laser guided missiles to directly launch missiles to attack targets. Players can flexibly switch between infrared/laser guided missiles to strike enemy aircraft according to the situation. In addition, the weapon system of the vehicle can also be compatible with ships.

QW-1A
The “Vanguard” 1 portable air defense missile is not very heavy and can be launched without warning. It has quasi omnidirectional attack capability, so it has shifted from an export model to active equipment and was installed in China’s frontline forces since 1997. It can provide air cover for various low altitude, ultra-low altitude aircraft, and armed helicopter combat teams, as well as follow-up cover tasks for armored and mechanized forces. It can also be mounted on vehicles, boats, or helicopters for air defense operations or aerial combat, and can be combined with small anti-aircraft guns to form an automated anti-aircraft system that integrates ammunition and artillery.
QW-1A is a derivative of QW-1M, with the adaptation of man-portable radar weighing 30 kg and a range of 15 km, and it is carried by the observer. The associating fire control system enables various QW-1A units to be linked up and thus increasing the effectiveness by forming an air defense network, which in turn, could be integrated into large air defense network. The overall effectiveness of the QW-1A system is claimed by many domestic Chinese internet media sources as equal to or better than that of FIM-92A. Although the entire QW-1A system including radar / fire control system could be carried by a crew of 2-men team, it is often mounted on vehicles.The improved missile model has replaced the guidance head and has better infrared anti-interference ability.

QW-2
QW-2 is a missile with all aspect attack capability and improved ECCM capability. There are two types of seeker for QW-2: the first is the dual band infrared passive seeker first revealed in 1998, and an imaging IR (ImIR) seeker has been designed sometimes later. The fuse is similar to that of QW-18. The minimum altitude is decreased to 10 m, thus further improving the capability against low-flying cruise missile and hovering helicopters that suddenly pop up from hiding. QW-2 is considered by many domestic Chinese media sources as the Chinese equivalent of FIM-92E.

QW-3
This is the Chinese equivalent of French Mistral missile, with fuse developed from that of QW-2. The missile is unique among Chinese MANPAD in that this is the only surface-to-air missile that adopts the semi-active laser guidance similar to AGM-114 Hellfire. The gyro stabilized seeker provides very high degree of accuracy and is extremely effective against low altitude cruise missiles. The 15 degrees per second tracking rate of the seeker is relatively low in comparison for other MANPAD for supersonic targets in high g maneuver at very high altitudes, but this is by no means handicapping the performance because such targets are not intended to be for QW-3, which is specifically designed to engage terrain hugging helicopters and UAV’s and other fast flying targets at extremely low altitudes, including supersonic sea skimming cruise missiles. The external look of the missile is similar to earlier QW missile with the exception of adding a booster with greater diameter than that of the missile. Due to the increased size and weight, the missile cannot be shoulder fired like other MANPAD, but must be fired from bipod or tripod like French Mistral missile and Swedish RBS 70.

QW-4
The latest member of the QW series, with a fuse similar to QW-2 and a new type of thermal imaging seeker. The new fully electric control surface provides a smoother flight path curve, greatly improving accuracy. Many domestic Chinese media claim that the missile is equivalent to the FIM-92G.It adopts infrared thermal imaging technology, which increases the depth and breadth of target detection compared to previous point infrared detectors. Due to relying on image guidance, it is difficult to be interfered with and has omnidirectional attack capability.
