Flags That Should Be Added to Custom Flag Customization:

Hello all, today I am officially asking that Gajjin Entertainment add/remove the flags of the following nations, due to their historical significance and/or realism.

  1. The Republic of China/Taiwan/Chinese Taipei Flag

The Flag of Taiwan, an area which is considered by many to be a country, or has garnered the world’s support, has multiple vehicles in the game already, such as the CM11 and M60A3 TTS, because of its status as an “area” with its own separate, imported vehicles. It deserves to have its differences shown.

  1. The Weimar Republic Flag

The Weimar Republic has two naval vessels in the game currently, the reserve Leopard and premium Luchs. Since it was a completely different country under a different leader, and has vehicles in the game that were built to fulfill different doctrines and fight different vehicles, it is only fair that the Weimar Republic be represented in the game.

  1. The Flag of the British Empire/Commonwealth Flag

During World War Two, the British Empire controlled roughly 20%-30% of the Earth’s landmass. Any nation or empire of that size should have its flag represented—especially when its colonizer country is in the game already.

  1. World War Two Army Flag of Japan

The World War Two Army Flag may seem like a stretch to some, as it wasn’t technically the national flag of the nation. However, it is commonly shown as the flag of Japan during World War Two. This also has standing as the default flag of Germany is the Military Ensign of Nazi Germany. It is also helpful to contrast the military of Imperial Japan with the Japan Self-Defense Force, which has completely different strategies and ideals.

  1. Chinese Flags [US and USSR Tech Trees]

Due to the fact that the ⋆Type 62 and ⋆LVT(A)(4) (ZIS-2) are in the Soviet and US Tech Trees respectively, the nations should be able to be displayed with the Chinese flag, as China technically then counts as a subtree. Alternately, the vehicles should be moved to the Chinese Tech Tree.

Overall, the addition of these flags, Gaijin, will make the game more historically accurate, and will boost immersion of many players, because of this, I urge you add these flags to the game as soon as possible.

There was never a flag to represent the British Empire, other than the Union Flag itself being used to represent British dominion.
The one Gaijin labelled as the “British Empire flag”, is the ensign of the Royal Navy, and has no status as a national flag. It’s only meant to be flown on ships and at naval bases.
The Commonwealth Flag is an organisational flag from the 1970s that functions like the EU, ASEAN, CIS, or Arab League flags. It’s not a national flag, and has no historic military basis for being used for what you describe

Its not…? At least according to UN…doesn’t always mean much but in the RoC itself the One-China / Pro Unification Party/Parties are currently holding the most seats in the Government…so theres that.

I think the RoC/KMT Flag should be added anyway however because its the historical flag of China which they used before and during WW2. I don’t get why Gaijin won’t, its not even censored or controvers in the PRC / Mainland…very well respected actually.

as a chinese i think it’s a flag needs to use…carefully,especially in something CAN BE related to the politic.In websites,even it a history related topic or something, many times i see it in a blurred version.
As an internal affair, foreigners had better not interfere in it.

depends on the context if its political but else its also shown in many movies honouring the roc and their fight against the japanese, only is sensitive when its about after the war and shows it as flag of china but not illegal/banned

at least from my knowledge last time i checked…but i guess Xi turned up the censorship cuz invading soon

It is according to my country and themselves, plus others. Plus they are a separate government.

If taiwan exists, then also Kososvo, Catalonia, Karelia, and others should be added, maybe not woth a vehicle, but at least with a decal ( maybe they are also already in-game i didnt check, but inguess they arent represented )

So why don’t you think ROC flag can lead War Thunder get banned in Chinese mainland which Gaijin can get many money?
For most Chinese players add ROC flag now is a terrible idea too

RoC was considered a legitimate country by the UN before October 1971, when United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 was adopted. And we have some RoC tanks before that time in game.

Cause China gets its own publisher that can just not offer it iirc
