Best we can do is a T-90, thread locked, banned for violating the rules, Challengers armor is made of aluminium foil
In fairness, while the spawling is absolutely insane, the gun mantlet is actually a pretty unarmored part of CR2s design.
The triangular area is hollow to make room for TOGS IIs electrical and signal cabling.
The strikeface, I dont think is composite or anything, so it’s just raw metal.
Behind that is a huge 200mm metal block that sits infront of the gunbreach area. Then there’s the actual turret wall itself, and the armor that brings (something like 50mm to 100mm maybe) and then the breach (modelled as 150mm)
Irl, the challenger 2 has this bigass weak spot. It’s possible on CR2E this isnt the case as there’s no TOGSII and you could fill that void with composite. But yeah, this is definitely a weak point for CR2.
The difference here though is that the breach armor and strikeface are all terribly modelled and you can just instakill CR2 by shooting there somehow.
Saw this post a while ago, though they mention a VDS report but its not attached. Anyone got this report for me to look at?
Wait so, the report was accepted as factual without any proof?
Normally the rules surrounding reporting bugs like this, is that supporting documents have to be declassified, attached in the report or easily researchable or something, right?
There is some substance to it, especially in the top 2/3, as shown here, but yeah the main protection comes from behind the hood.
No, at while back the added the ability to make it so the documents you posted for the report can only be viewed by the tech mods.
Nope. Anything provided by the OP in the addition/historical files section is shown to OP and mods only.
No the sources section on a report is only visible to Tech Mods and the person who reported the issue.
Note the pad lock section, that isn’t publicly visible;
Actually tells you when you create a report “Private Field”;
I know this is not topic about this, but i found out why Cent mk.10 gun mantlet is so weak. 152mm plate at the front is connected to the same plate at the back, causing penetrating shells to ignore the internal plate. As many poeple on this topic most likely have the mk.10, could somone double check me? I want to be sure before i make a report.
Also 152mm plate having 143mm of protection. Something does not add up, or ist cast armour that bad?
Honestly seeing how much some of y’all have research wise (I didn’t know just how many challenger 2 threads there were) just to see the Challenger 2 only get nerfed in the one of the latest patches is just an ouch.
I imagine it’s being worked on long term but cynic in me says it just won’t be fixed in any meaningful timeframe, by the time it get fixed (if at all) it’ll just be already outtiered by newer tanks. Ugh.
I think what hurts CR2 the most is the leak. Any change has poteltial risk of beeing reported as made with class docs. Or so i tell myself…
Got myself a ingame situation
and it seems like the hole in the inner plate is made before it is touched
also all the spals ignore it
Here the vid
@Gunjob is this enough to make a report, or do i need to look for sources?
Looks good enough to me, your main issue is the two sperate plates are connected thus acting as a single unit?
If so can you include the ingame screenshots and CLOG files from a testing session, would also be nice to know how many Cent’s this impacts and would save me time in checking them all.
Yes, sure thing, i will get the clog and i will start making the report
I cant find clog from the testing session, so i will ad the newest one, if it is not it i will ad older one but it is from nearly 1h ago
Needs to be the same CLOG from the session where you took the ingame screenshot.
