Fixing the TES with all available research

As you can see, Challenger 2 has nothing in engine compartment and no fuel tanks, so we remove its ability to drive, we also remove engine cover as it is not here.

Maybe if you’re good, you can have the Challenger 2 early (its the same model as the normal challenger 2, but somehow slower and worse)

Painfully true lmao

The depressing thing is that the copied pasted Russian tanks work better than the British own tanks :(

They’ve nerfed the Challenger even further it looks like
You can now shoot the breech and it pretty consistently spalls into and kills the turret crew instead of being absorbed by the breech.

To me it looks like they removed the “armor” around the breech, as I can no longer see the diagonal bits that used to be there on the x-ray. (was incorrect, the x-ray has not changed)

Just lmfao.

I have no way to confirm this at work but i’m already sold on it being real lmao
This is such a Gaijin move.
Maybe we can get it back with GE…

Honestly had maybe 5-6 more essay style reports in the works regarding armor, mobility, etc but the response has killed any enthusiasm. They dont want Challenger to work. It’s filled with waterballoons for armor, Britain never progressed past WW2 technology, challenger 2 is inferior to russian super tanks xaxaxa

Its trash and I’m not wasting time on trying to report issues they know exist but keep in game to fit their own narrative

basic British Suffer

Alright so when comparing it to one posted on August 6th the x-ray is the same, I was simply making stuff up in my mind.
I am stupid and misled in the regard.

But yeah the spalling has still changed for the worse on the tank’s breech.

Currently i have no way to confirm it, but i just simply belive it. I was with Challys2 nearly from their debute, and they are in i think the worst state (but 2E mobility and BN gen3 & APS are nice, i need to give them a win here).

You know, reports in russian (from my expireince looking at bug report site) gets attention much faster, maybe we all should make reports in russian?

Did they change something on the TES ?
Here is a video of JustinPlays https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BgCkpOlaAc

watch at 2.16 with chem protection at 1844 with the Khrizantema-S tandem warhead.

And do that right now in the game and it goes straight through.

Am i nuts or am i missing something here ?

No you’re not nuts lol
What happened is the TES originally had around 1800mm of CE protection. Unsure of kinetic.
Then Smin in response to a bug report on the TES that claimed it should have the ability to defeat 30mm APFSDS (This is false.) and gave the statement that the TES is getting changed ERA.
The ERA is now a generic nameless ERA and they changed the ERA figures from 1800mm CE to 400mm CE and made the KE protection 30mm

The 30mm thing has been a widespread piece of misinformation for a long time. TES was never rated for STANAG level 6, which boasts the 30mm APFSDS claim.
It is, however using ASPRO-HMT which boasts STANAG level 5, protection against 25mm APFSDS at 500m.
The reason people bring up the 30mm thing, is because they are assuming (falsely) that the TES uses Rafaels Armor Shield R package. It does not. It uses Rafaels ASPRO-HMT.

Gaijin looked at these claims (assumedly for 30 seconds while on lunch break), and deduced “the Theatre Entry Standard kit that mounts an additional 5.8t of improved modern chemical munitions protection and is introduced on a 2008 era main battle tank, cannot defeat anti-tank chemical munitions from a 1988 or even older RPG. 400mm take it or leave it.” They then went “well…I do like the funny number that man mentioned in the bug report…protection against 30mm APFSDS you say? Well, that sounds fine to me. 30mm kinetic protection it is :)))))” and unironically took the 30mm figure, even though this is a figure from the wrong ERA package entirely, and ran with it. Instead of being able to defeat 30mm AFPSDS rounds, they figured the 30mm number is the actual KE protection. 30.
Seriously, this is real.

In one foul move, that makes 0 sense and is the laziest shit i’ve ever seen - Gaijin took the TES’ one thing (the Theatre Entry Standard kit) and made it literally no different from the Challenger 2Fs armor package. Meaning TES which comes right after the 2F, is just heavier. Thats it. Same tank otherwise, now beyond the composite backing screen which doesn’t stop anything, again, due to the incorrect figures.

TES should be around 1200-1800mm of CE and 84mm of KE.
This is because it is STANAG5 rated, fielded on 2008 era battle tanks, and designed to defend against guided AT missiles and tandem warheads.

What we actually get is 400mm of CE because uhhhhHhh…whuh?
And 30mm because UhhhH…huhhh???

There’s no logic, reasoning, or thought behind why Gaijin did this change and its been like that for a while now.

Leopard for comparison

figure while I’m here might as well complain about the stabilizer while also showing Russia’s breech

Yep artificial nerf so the tank made to be hull down cant do it. And gaijin decided to not take into the calculations size of the weakspot, so you have 1/3 of your turret with 240mm of ke protection

I think people confused Dorchester 2I on megatron with 2H we have on TES, that is where Stanag 6 came from.
Also the funny thing is, 1800 got changed because cried that it was able to nullify atgms shoot at them. ERA was doing what it was supposed to, and got hit for that. Thankfully things changed, as relikt have no problems having high CE and KE protection on blocks that can take a few CE rounds (due to those ke plates inside it can sometimes nullify up to 3 heatfs), we might see a change to chally too.

Nah the ch2 will sadly stay whete it is lets be real here…

The truth, sadly. T-80s are 80% impervious to damage and needs well aimed shots to penetrate, meanwhile the challenger 2, the “most survivable tank ever made” can’t get hit anywhere and survive

Still like the ch2 more tho, it speaks to me.

They can nerf it as much as they like, it’s still the sexiest looking modern MBT

No, at some pont they will have to fix it. More and more players will get them, and thy will be forced to move
