Gotta admit the credit system is kinda broken, sometimes you get a kill without really knowing why you’re the only getting it and others times you clearly shoot a plane out of the sky but the credit goes to someone else or no one at all

Are you intentionally daft, or are you honest to God that way?
This is nothing new and happens when two players play chicken in head-on attacks.
It boils down that in 99% of the cases the players which have scored less hits gets a kill and his opponent gets zero.
In addition: Your claim to get not even with a kill after you scored a severe damage seems highly unlikely. In case you can post a replay link confirming this you need to create a bug report - usually there is no way to get a kill denial as soon as you scored a severe damage (except landing & repairing).
i critically hit someone and then my teammate crashed into him and i didn’t even get an assist

Sorry if I was a little hostile. Off topic, had to deal with “very intelligent and capable” floor supervisors that gave me the wrong information and were mad at me I couldn’t read their minds and ordered what they wanted.
