FIX the Tornado IDS WT61!

Were they changed? They have always worked very well for me.

Tornado IDS itself might had only one change.
Limitation of dropping bombs at high speed. (non exist->M 1.0)

He might be complaining because
There are tons of ‘Soviet fighter jets with napalm’ flying mindlessly to base, at a faster speed than Tornados thanks to the lighter weight of the payload.

If we compare all three rank 7 premium german jets.
(Lazur, Su-22 WTD, Tornado WTD)

MiG-21bis Lazur-M acts better at base bombing on the current meta
‘with a bit better a2a combat capability’

They always will fly faster than Tornados, They will always take base faster than Tornados.
then Tornado is forced to fight A2A against F-4S scumbags with sluggish attacker fuselage.

Thanks to Typical bomber-hating system problem of ARB since Lancasters vs Bf 109K or Ta-152

This is a pretty classic case of ARB not being designed for Ground attackers. They really do need to work on improving ARB for them or adding an RB EC gamemode. in ASB, the Tornado is fantastic.

But could always be worse. You could be at 11.7 instead of 11.3 with the Tornado ASSTA1, Tornado Gr1 or Tornado A200A or you could have much weaker engines like the Tornado Gr1.

The recompression does suck

This is very annoying. Aircraft with Napalm need to only run about 1/3 of the bomb load, all in aircraft that are faster and usually better armed. It could really do with a rebalance. Especially as some nations dont really get access to Napalm

Fighters need to be prevented from using bombs or CAS in ARB honestly

I was talking about aim 9ls

Solution, remove Napalm from MiG-21/23’s. I don’t care about their grinding, they’re better off using their very capable fighters to PVP.

Remove CAS ability during ARB to anyone but Strike fighters

Oh. Sorry, I misread.

AIM-9L is still one of the best ‘non-IRCCM’ IR missiles.
But somewhat annoying to use when flying with Tornado IDS.

Or just give it Aim-9Es and move it to 10.0

Needs buffs/IR rework though, should be unflarable if the target is on reheat.

No. Imagine a Tornado against 9.0 aircraft lmao.
They literally cannot do anything to it until it runs out of fuel.

Weakest it ever used was Aim-9G at which point it would be like 11.0 when compared with the Jaguar Gr1A at 10.7. But the Tornado (at 11.3) is perfectly balanced for the BR. But ARB just sucks. Moving it to 10.0 wouldnt actually help all that much imo

Not much different than the F-4C

F-4C is slower, has no countermeasures.

The F-4C is already weak at 10.0 specifically because it has no countermeasers.

F-4C has a better gun and is better at turning

The only reason the F-4C isn’t higher is because of the lack of CM’s.
The Tornado CANNOT go to 10.0, period.
There is quite literally nothing short of a Kfir Canard catching it if it goes down there.

Yeah… Its really annoying that some vehicles get access to weapons used by other nations but not all. Britian reserverd the right to use Napalm but didnt carry it actively. So Phantoms, Jaguar, Harriers, etc probably all could use Napalm. Also the Buc S2 and Sea Vixen specifically list Napalm in their manuals but has yet to be added (was reported about 3 years ago)

But my hope is that CBUs get added at some point and they have comprable damage/score multipliers to napalm. That would help the Tornado quite a bit, as well as many others.
