this would push SPAA, things with little to no armor, to go into battle, bringing SPAA performance down as a whole. SPAA’s whole purpose is to shoot down planes from behind friendly lines. yes some SPAA could do this but a majority of them can be killed with MG’s and there fore usually stay in spawn unless their team is greatly advanced past the points
and im not saying map shrinkage is great and fun. it isnt. but weighed against the current alternative it is the best measure to help balance
Yea ok. Although Gaijin is planning to add resupply zones for SPAAs in your spawn area. this could be modified to, If SPAA vehicles stay near the team OR these zones you get additional rewards. or something.

i miss the old maps, but when i consider how much of an annoyance a fox on the opposite side of the map spawn killing me would be, i think blocking off parts of the maps that were camper havens is a good first step, though not at all a permanent fix and they need to come up with something else
Most of the bad sides of the maps are not the borders, the locations of the Capture Points, you know that the Conquest mode in Seversk-13, the spawn zones are at the city side where the cap point is at the jungle side. I withnessed the battle is mostly ended up with enough kills without anyone getting into the zone. Same goes for Surrounding of Volokolamsk,
and the other bad sides of the maps are the unbalanced terrain. i.e. Eastern Europe (or European Province), Middle east, Novorossiysk (Conquest), Japan, Poland, Advance to the Rhine, and so on. 90% of the time in these maps, one certain side wins.
Absolutely! No doubt about it, but the Developers have chosen other things, like updating the Hud to a mobile game

This is why, Map design needs to change!
however i think that with the new update upcoming soonish, and their attention being fixed elsewhere, we will not see a permanent or good fix till way later, if ever

Also all the maps are sharing same problem that really annoys every one. The enormous and unexpected (highly expected actually) hitboxes. These are not only blocking shells, but also you see Huge Skyscrapers, apartments, malls, are demolishing while you are just passing by like 1-2 meters away from it, and it slows you down, because you hit them through the air.
Not even mentioning the Trees that are sticking to your tank (Especially blocking the sight) after you crush them.
This game is running on a old game engine, and WoT still beats the hitboxes by a landslide than this game… Altough WoT is dead as of now… ahhh 2014
i think that right now, the way they are doing it will suffice, as when i play i do not notice a great amount of annoyance by the changes, and that the shrinkage of maps is mostly to force players to play OBJ more than just attempt to flank and spawn camp, and for some maps it works great. but for others the shrinkage needs to be redone or modified
I see them updating the Dagor engine afaik. At least they did like 3 months before when the A-10 Thunderbolt II Teaser released IIRC.

I usually hang around here, but also on the community.gaijin.net , I make a lot of bug reports there, Minor bugs, they mostly return in like 4 days to 2 weeks, but the major ones, they return to you maybe 2-4 months later then after 6 months of investigation, they add a tag “Fixed” then leaving a message “The bug will be fixed in the next update”, then the Bug getting fixed after 4 major updates (approximately 2 years later). now I have some bug reports, 4 to be exact, none of them got a return yet, 3 are a month old, one is just 2 days.
edit: Sorry I missed one, it is now has “acknowledged” tag on it for about a year.
