First Person Naval

Do we think we will ever get a first person mode in ships, it would be a dramatically more fun change to naval to make it a bit more fun for being able to walk around the bridge and possibly the sorronding area or the decks with stairs going up and down, not fully fledged internal modelling just the outside that is already modelled. you carry around binoculars like Tanks and can free look before pointing your batteries in that direction. image attatched is the bridge of USS Wisconsin, an Iowa-Class.

Not a chance.

It would need massive time and investment in a mode they already seem to want to disappear quietly through neglect. The effort of adding a super detailed bridge interior and working upper decks of every ship and boat in game would be enormous, and you would have to do multiple ships per update to reduce the complaints of ‘why is X not detailed !?!’.

I also don’t believe it would actually add much to gameplay as you wouldn’t be able to fight any more effectively whilst strolling the deck. Would there truly be any advantage over using binoculars from deck level compared to current pov?

The game is far to tactical in nature rather than a strategic study of Naval warfare for it to be viable. It would slow down a mode that some already complain is boring (which if played correctly it is not).

Best left to first person shooters, or a naval game specifically designed from the waves up.

you can. heres a guide

  1. spawn in ship
  2. go to replay afterwards
  3. use freecam to head inside ship
  4. realize gaijin wont model that stuff
  5. cry

Boi, it took years to convince Gaijin to model at least placeholder cockpits for bombers. This would take an ice age… :D
