I think it would be fairly logical for them to overhaul them considering how many harrier across so many nations exist. Also there are many premium harriers.
With a bit of luck, and with gunjobs new HUD report they might make some changes this next update.
I hope they do, but I can also see it being a trickle over the next year or 2.
Im just hoping they finish the HUD work they started last major (i.e EEGS, gunsight and CCRP) that’ll keep us going whilst they work on the further improvements you found.
After that, its just the little things like Sooty exhaust that could be fixed in 30 seconds or adding some of the F-117s code to help stabilise the heat sig issues
Yep, If you are slow ISH, then nothing is flarable. Only thing you can do is throttle down to idle at the same time. Ideally you need to keep your speed up above 500kts
Ohh and I felt like taking some rockets the other day in the Shar to hit some light ground targets, only to realize after trying to activate the rockets ccip that gaijin didn’t give the Shar hud a rocket sight.
Every time I play it’s just disappointing lol.
Especially so when I get into a dogfight with a MiG-21 and the fight gets low and slow and he manages to get his nose on me because he can pull 30+ degrees aoa and I’m hard capped at 21 for some stupid reason….
It’s just not a priority of gaijins to model the harriers correctly, they are old and they have had their heyday so they are just second rate jets that hardly anyone plays now.
The issue is more that the harrier is unusually more prone to having its flares ignored whether the throttle is high or low compared to other similar 60s-90s fighters, comedically the opposite compared to irl where the RR Pegasus had a reputation for being colder - even if factoring out that it didn’t have an afterburner.
Besides, the AV-8A is just about the best case scenario being the GR.1 type harriers with lower thrust engines (since Gaijin made the unusual decision to base IR sig on thrust and not irl values) and plentiful CMs, at a BR with lower performing IR missiles.
Not just IR missiles nowadays too, the presence of IRSTs makes things rough.
