Yes, I know, but it is the only FaF missile for helicopters that the Russians have developed domestically. But I also hope that they won’t be added for the time being, because their range outclasses all air defence systems except Pantsir in terms of range. That’s why I suggested the Indian HAL Prachand for Russia, which has a guided missile family with Helina, of which at least the older versions are very similar with a range of 8 km and an imaging infrared seeker head with Spike.
However, as many here have concerns about MMW AGMs, in this case the helicopter could probably be expected from GB. After all, they already have other Indian vehicles such as the T-90 Brishma.
Without MMW-guided air-to-ground missiles, it will be difficult to equip every nation’s combat helicopters with FaF missiles.
Of course, you can work with the helicopters of other nations such as South Korea, India and Turkey which all have domestically developed and produced missiles with similar characteristics to Spike ER (in game sepcifications).
But even then, many nations are still without FaF missiles.
The Apache can carry Spike, but as far as I know only NLOS and they have far too long a range to be introduced into the game.
China also only has MMW guided atgms and Russia only has LMUR which has a to high range.
All in all, without MMW seeker it will be difficult to fulfil the objective of equiping all nations top tier helicopters with FaF missiles
If Hellfires had any kind of internal memory or had the ability to track another laser signature (say from a friendly scout drone) they probably wouldn’t be as tragic.
If this was true Israel would be absolutely destroying top tier single handed, there’s not a great deal more counterplay against IR F+F, most of it is incidental like moving behind an object or popping smoke when you’ve already been hit and the missile didn’t destroy you.
Most of it is accidental. Although if paying attention you might save you ass. I know the 1 of a hand ful of tumes i actually seen an uht i saw the pars in the kill feed immediately popped smoke. And if someone calls it out in chat you can still counterplay it.
But with radar missiles essentially in a open desert map. You won’t have anything.
Giving sweden a dutch AH64 when the dutch are within the french TT rn makes no sense. Additionally the current playervase complains about anything being added to sweden regardless of if its good or bad so it doesnt really work.
Well, it makes sense in so far as the Dutch buy military equipment from the Swedes and the French have enough combat helicopters of their own and therefore don’t need a Dutch AH-64.
And unfortunately I can’t think of any other nation that has both good combat helicopters of its own and close links with Sweden or at least Scandinavia.
Thats why I mentioned the dutch, also it is not very likely.
As for the hatred of good Swedish equipment, I haven’t heard anything about that yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Italy also got a good deal when they got the Lynx and the Leopard 2A7HU.
Thats just not how that works. Gaijin wouldn’t do that. I think its more likely sweden helicopters are basically done. So of the heli trees you could argue it’s the worst. I dont really care to argue about what it should or could get. The mention of sweden is enough to get peoples blood boiling for no real reason.
I dont feel like you visit the forum enough if you haven’t seen people bitch and conplain about any swedish addition. (No hate here just saying its very unlikely you haven’t seen someone complain. People want sweden to just not have a heli tree.)

Unfortunately you get people that seem to think all swedish vehicles are OP because of top tier and a certain 3.7 tank. Guess thats more than enough of a reason

2A7HU yeah, but Lynx is meh, overall not a good vehicle with no lineup and uptiering good 10.3 line up doesn’t make sense.
Gripen can be highlighted, although on the other hand it seems it’s the reason why Italy doesn’t get its own AMRAAM carrier (in the game F-16ADF is limited to weapons it has never used).
R wouldnt be that bad. Still laser guided , but with all the useful fuze and warhead upgrades.

Anyway, this could be the entry point for the introduction of this type of missile.
Especially because Gaijin with their bias might find it easier to give such a technology to the Russians first.

Chinese Helis do kinda need CN502G cause the current one sucks, barely supersonic and only 8 carried, just useless. The drone as well, tbh, why 300 extra SP just for an equal missile to other drones?
