Finnish F-18C

Food is a good way to describe it.

Well tbf the current 14.0 roster has no equals, the F15C could be 14.0 but its besides the point. The majority of 13.7’s are worse than the 14.0’s the only difference is the Hornet of which only one is even a decent model and the other is not worth the time to grind. At least the OCU was okay since you didn’t have to play it. Since you had the JAS 39C and the F15J(M) at 13.7 sweden doesnt get anything useful past 13.0 ill play sweden air when they actually have something worth playing but for now i dont have any real interest in the tree unless its Danish or Norwegian.

This holds pretty much true in the War Thunder space. I also think that since there never was satisfactory explanation for the choices made leads one to think why does the uniqueness matter sometimes and other times not. And sometimes there is effort when there is enough backlash really points out the willingness to cut corners while still adhering to some of their own rules and disregarding others.

It really is a Schrödinger’s design but the corner cutting option wins if they can get away with it. Most of the time this doesn’t create problem’s as most of the player base don’t view this as a high-fideluty flight sim but a medium of enjoyment thus balance and gamemodes are the most important aspects for players as long as they are done in believable way

Right now I can research both of the top-tier Hornets and there is no situation I would want the unique experience of the Finnish one over the American one or even try the Finnish one other than personal bias. But even then in 14.0 ARB gameplay loop the disadvantage of the Finnish Hornet is not worth it (as most people in 14.0 ARB use HMD when defensive as it saves a lot of time and workload)

Top BR vehicles should be rewarding the player with atleast having the courtesy of having similiar capabilities compared to their counterparts. Shit like this will only increase the needless animosity between different playerbases as the amount of time sank into each one is a significant enough investment to get emotional responses from people.

If uniqueness was actually an issue you cared about the Finnish air TT would actually see something new like the Folland Gnat or Drakens and MiG-21s with a mix of Western and Eastern a2a missiles rather than a lazy copypaste that has some attributes removed at one of the most ruthless BRs

I did it too a few days ago.

Accepted, woohoo.

I saw yours and another persons. I spend about 30 mins at work on my break looking through bugs and suggestions for every nation hoping they’ll get fixed.

But lets not get carried away, they could remove it if they want so lets not get too overhyped, this would be the first good news to happen since they announced it…thats pretty sad

Just because it’s accepted doesn’t mean it will be implemented.

It definitely should, this isn’t a historical bug this is an actual bug from gaijin. Ill just keep checking on it and hoping its fixed before the live.

The sales brochures for export F-18 might have the stuff needed to correct it.

Not entirely there a few versions of it. Export model for the Swiss F/A-18C for example has its ability to strike ground targets but also has JMHCS iirc. Its been a while since i originally submitted my vehicle suggestion for the Swiss F/A-18C hornet. I could be confusing it with others but Finland IIRC is in a unique case as i believe they received the most unique hornet as the A2G computers were ripped out. (Im not familiar with any other export hornets that had the US rip their A2G avionics out) Id need a early PDF flight manual for export hornets to do proper bug reports.

We would essentially have to find the specifc model the Pre MLU 1 is based on and skip over any A2G ordinance even then gaijin may not consider it a primary source since its not the exact model.

its 14.0 for the specific reason that It has 10 missiles. and that’s it…

While vastly inferior to USN F/A-18C Late.

No HMD
No Ground ordnances
Worse Stock grind experience thanks to fewer modifications to unlock (Higher RP per mods)

Seems that was why Nordic guys are disappointed.

Yea, unfortunately I’m not sure how it would go in a lower BR either though. if it had 8 missiles it would easily fit in 13.3, but with 10, being able to get 2 more kills (or more likely guarantee 5 kills) prevents it from doing that.

Because that premium Viggen doesn’t exist, because that German F4 doesn’t exist.

Comparing the premium Viggen and the F-4 ICE to an F-18, quite something

Well, they’re 13.0 with AIM 120s. That’s what I’m comparing it to.

SU27SM
-12 missiles
-HMS
-A2G armament
-TVC IRCCM ir missiles

Yes the AIM-120B is better at bvr that the r77, but the r77 is still Fox-3 missile, so why should the Finnish F-18 be 14.0 if SU27SM can be at 13.7?
I wouldn’t put the F-18 any lower than 13.7 (at least in the start), but 14.0 is too high in my opinion.

Both have 4 Aim 120s… Slight difference to 10

And? Grippen C only gets 4 AIM 120s, when can that go down to 13.0?

su-34, one of the best CAS of the ENTIRE GAME, 10 missiles including 8 r-77 can be equipped, very good engines, very good maneuverability, it has no HMD and it is in 13.3. For me this is the biggest joke, the f18c in 14.0 while the su-34 is in 13.3.
