Description: The Fiat AVH6636 was an Italian light tank destroyer of the Cold War. It’s development started in the 1970s when the Italian army sent out a new request for a new light vehicle that could support the main tank line against airborne infantry and armored vehicles during a hypothetical war scenario against the Soviet Union in the Adriatic Sea Territory. The Italian company Iveco proposed three new vehicles to meet the requirements expressed by the Italian army. The first two were IFVs in a 4x4 configuration, the AVL6634 and the AVH6633 (which were not actually proposed for the previously mentioned requirements but to replace the older 6614 and 6616), while the last one was a 6x6 tank destroyer armed with a 90-mm gun, the AVH6636. Among this trhee, only the AVL6634 was chosen and would be later modified and called puma. The AVH6636 didn’t satisfy the Italian army’s requirements and wasn’t chosen. Instead, it was asked by the CIO (a newly formed consortium of Iveco and OTO Melara) to make a similar vehicle based on the same concept but with a 105 mm cannon and a different hull. The only prototype of the AVH6636 was only partially completed. The Hull was fully functional, but the turret was a mock up, and the gun was never mounted (despite the fact that the GIAT CN90 F4 was made and mounted on several other vehicles). After the competition, the prototype was sent to the Italian Museum of Motorizzazione in Rome, and it remained there for some years. Later, it was sent to the Italian company C.R.A. (a company that mainly restores weelhed vehicles), and it was placed in a parking zone. The prototype is still there, and it is possible to visit it. It was rumored that it would have been restored, but for now nothing has changed, and it has remained abandoned in the parking zone. (I’m suggesting this as an incomplete prototype.)
Why it should be in game: It will give to the Italian tt a new light tank destroyer between the R3 T106 and the VCC80/60
