Introduction:

Hi everyone, today i would like to suggest a late cold war upgrade for the venerable Ferret scout car. This Program involved up gunning the ferret with a Helio FVT 900 turret equipt with a GIAT M621 or Oerlikon KAA 20mm gun as well as adding a more powerful engine to equate for the increase in weight. This nippy little Armoured car failed to find a market in real life, even though its less well armed ilk saw serious adoption world( over 20 countries), but in war thunder it might have a chance to prove itself against its imfamous peers such as the R3.

History:

The Ferret 80 was an export version developed in 1980 by Alvis to radically upgrade this vehicle with a more potent armament and new aluminum hull. This hull was leangthened with the addition of large flat mudguards, relocated hatches with a new nĀ°16 cupola, new 4 cylinder Perkins Phaser 110MT diesel engine (210 hp) with automatic transmission, power steering, infrared opticals and full NBC protection. It was made available in December of 1983 but there where no takers on the export market. The Ferret 80 was available in three types of configurations, with the most interesting being the one equipt with the large Helio FVT 900 turret fitted with a 20 mm autocannon and coaxial GPMG which increased the normally nimble ferret car up to a hefty seven tons. Because it found no buyers it remained a one off prototype.
