To further add, this mechanic is so useless that even if you have the damn tank spaded, the game will STILL give you it stock.

Since it a mechanic that works only 9.3+,tanks given should be equipped with Parts,FPE and Laser Range finder with at least 50 or 75 (Crew points balanced) OR at least,make the crew level be the ones you have in the hangar already

he has only 11.7 T80UM2 and got uptiered, now he has access to a pantsir that is above his only vehicle because the vehicles given are based on both the vehicles BR brought and the BR range of the match. So in a way you definitely do get access to vehicles that are above the players own vehicle.

The free vehicles are basically worthless for every other nation that isnt russia. With USA and China being just barely worth it.
Assuming you brought top top tier plane (or got uptiered from 11.7-12.0) and lets say a light tank you will get a tank with lvl 1 crew and stock modifications, even if you own that vehicle and fully spaded it.
This generally means your tank thats given to you is horrible to drive because driving is 0, horrible to aim because targetting is 0 (so you dont even get the horizontal and vertical aiming at the same time), one FPE, no thermals or LR and armed with only HEATFS which at top tier is even worse to use than straight up HE shells.
The MBTs are simply just not worth it because you are artificially getting cucked by the crew and lack of modifications.
As for SPAAs, again, Russia gets Pantsir and China CSSA5 for free which is pretty busted while other nations get jack shit. USA atleast gets ADATS that you can use as a TD.
Israel is just sad because their next best SPAA that isnt spyder is a chaparral and since its stock it doesnt even get the better missiles, it uses the MIM72E which can get flared. Germany gets Flarakrad but without smokes so again, worthless and as Japan i get beautiful and absolutely worthless TanSamKai with schizo radar.
Then you get into games and its so abysmally annoying, since SPAA cost is lower than MBTs, even if you end up killing a dude like 1-4 times hes just gonna bring an SPAA. This would be fine, however when theres 6 Pantsirs at all time, its just bothersome. Most of these people are also not good at playing SPAA or have never played top tier SPAA before so they end up just being at most an obnoxious speed bumb for CAS in essence. Like for example here:
And with the availability of pantsir to everyone, most of my matches at 12.7-13.0 are literally just quarter of my team spawns SPAA and is masturbating in the spawn while im trying to do LITERALLY ANYTHING.
It helps noone, just makes the matches worse for everyone.
It makes it worse for ground players because now theres 7 more SPAAs that could have been tanks with these free SPAAs not even moving out of spawn or positioning properly.
It makes it worse for planes or helis because while its not hard to kill them its just obnoxious to spend 5 minutes trimming the fat down instead of helping the team, plus while you can dodge pantsir missiles pretty easily, if youre using stuff like F2A (like i am at this moment) having access to only JDAMs means i have to actively hunt down ever single SPAA because they will just intercept my stuff since even a blind man can intercept a glide bomb, which is more of an annoyance than a threat.
And again, this is only with russia/china on the enemy team thanks to that PESA/TWS radar. Against other nations the chances that they will intercept stuff are much lower.
Also lastly it doesnt even help the SPAA players. The competency of people using the free-SPAA spawns is like, below 0 but what they do is they alert every single plane to start evading early which when im in a tan sam (or the kai version with radar down to be more sneaky) with limited range doesnt help me one bit when the plane starts evading before reaching my effective range.

The logical thing to do would be to give the crew level the average of the players crew levels at a given br (pre-calculated)

That “sort of” is doing a lot of heavy lifting im not going to lie plus its also extremely vague. “sort of” when your sentence is
poorly chosen in my opinion. You cant just add “sort of” at the end and it magically changes the entire sentence prior. But this is just arguing over nothing. Bottom of the line is that while the mechanic exists to prevent “one death leavers” its extremely poorly implemented and can give them vehicle thats above their highest BR one.
I disagree with the entire implementation of this mechanic because depending on which nation youre playing it gives you effectively an advantage over the other nations for free.
Gaijin could have done a similar thing when it comes to SPAAs as they did with nuke planes to have more “standardized” vehicles available for people that were BR dependent. Plus another thing i dont get is why do people with full lineups still get this feature if its for the premium single vehicle players. I have a 8 vehicle lineup for example and i still get free (be they useless) vehicles for no real reason.
The stupidest realization of a good idea.
All of us understand that mostly only premium players are playing “1 respawn” and this was done for them, but as a player who started to research new tech tree with 1 premium tank - I do not understand why should I use free tanks.
If there was an option do hide free tanks - I’ll immediately hide them.
It’s a very niche situation to manage to get something higher than the top BR vehicle in your lineup.
If you queue up for 11.7 you have 4 different ranges you can end up in; 10.7-11.7 . 11.0-12.0 , 11.3-12.3 or 11.7-12.7 . Only in one of those situations are you able to get a vehicle above your BR and that is if you’re in a 11.7-12.7 match, meaning you got a full up tier. in that situation you then have a range of free vehicles of 11.0-12.0. A USSR player in that situation will then have a 50-50 chance of getting the Tor-M1 at 11.3 or the Pantsir at 12.0 as an SPAA choice. The odds of that happening isn’t really that big, even less in packed BR ranges, hence the “(sort of)” , which in my opinion isn’t really doing “heavy lifting”.
So in general the odds of getting that higher BR vehicle is kind of small unless you purposefully min-max lineups for ranges where few vehicle choices exist. Even when you do get a higher BR vehicle it’s one BR step up, it’s stock, lvl 1 crew, in a match where you are already the lowest BR lineup in the entire match and in general at a disadvantage compared to your opponents. I honestly personally don’t mind it at that point.
But i do in general agree that there are some changes to the mechanic that would be beneficial when looking in comparison to reducing one death leaving.
Not to mention that your entire team is nothing but SPAAs halfway through the match. It becomes a liability the longer the game goes on. This was a good idea on paper, but it was poorly executed. The crews and vehicle modifications should at the very least come somewhat upgraded, these stock vehicles are nothing but cannon fodder and just added more fuel to one-sided matches.
Russia getting Pantsir and China a free SA-15 is pretty busted, might as well give Germany/USA/Japan their top tier SPAAs.
My feedback is completly revert update as its made the game worse in every way. Balance nope, bugs yes
