The balance issues on the “Cargo Port” map are very obvious. The team spawning on the upper side is clearly at a disadvantage, which has already had a significant negative impact on the overall gameplay experience.
For the upper spawn team, pushing toward point B requires advancing near the containers. However, the containers are designed to be penetrable. If the lower spawn team reaches B first and sets up fire behind the second building on the left side of B, it is very easy for them to create crossfire against players near the containers.
For the upper team, moving forward means getting caught in crossfire. Because the double-stacked containers are too tall, you cannot confirm enemy positions and cannot effectively return fire. Falling back means being shot through the containers by enemies positioned at the gap near point B.
Meanwhile, the lower spawn team does not have to deal with any of these problems. Has anyone tried rushing straight to the second building on the left side of B right after spawning? You will farm a group of players. If they try to support their teammates, they must expose themselves in front of you. If you have a fast enough reload, the outcome of the match is basically already decided.
If your team also happens to capture point C and push forward, congratulations—you have successfully spawn-trapped the upper team and gained a 360-degree view over the container area. At that point, they have no chance to even leave their spawn and fight back. Truly excellent map balance!
And finally:
stupid Gaijin, stupid BMPT
