Falcon/AMX-30DCA APDS removal was poorly accounted for

while I agree it should be fixed the APDS removal has already fixed most of the problem at least for the falcon and amx-30S DCA, its pretty easy to see on this graph of kills per spawn when APDS was removed.

Badger as well could be 8.7 its a piece of crap

9.0 is fine for the badger, just be happy it isn’t 9.3 at the very lowest like the rest of the bushmaster equipped vehicles, I’m aware of how slow its fire rate is, but it can but accommodated for in gameplay, the aircraft tracking and speed of the vehicle, even though its bus sized, are enjoyable enough for me, you will find a lot of bushmaster and similar vehicles just suck anyway.

Its gun even with darts seems weaker than the 30mm Rarden. Mobility, size and accuracy 9.0 is too high when most matches are 10.0 :(

While this doesn’t surprise me its great to see the data is co clear. In my view the Falcon should have just gone to 7.7 when it lost the APDS belt and that would have been all it needed. It didnt need the radar, in-fact adding it was a mistake as Britain already had multiple radar guided gun AA. And a good AA at 7.7 would have filled a gap.

Because the rarden are still overperforming from using the old penetration, they still dont have the updated model, had they pen 80-90 mm at 10m like every other apds then you wouldnt say the same.

zsu-57-2 isn’t in the discussion. WZ305 is, and that is one of the best AAs in the 7.3-8.7 range. I was referring to the 37/2 though, which has both AT and AA, though the radar is rather spotty. Not that the falcon is that much better, i tried it out today and it was getting blips every sec or so that would jerk the cursor around and was very inaccurate beyond 3km. Better accuracy than the DCA but not by much and with only directional search.

@ImBouttaBesh lol… badger is one of the worst 9.0 and i’ve played most. 100rpm with a cannon that will regularly fail to break a barrel in 2 hits and isn’t lethal enough to kill another IFV before the return. Its huge and dies to anything with an autocannon, cannon, rock, or stiff breeze. Looking at the stats, its also one of the rarest 9.0s in the tech tree because no one wants to play a POS with no list. The 8.7 brit list is great so why play a piece of trash that brings in a lot more difficult competition.

The point was its usable

Well heres the thing the point i made is its terrible, I agree, sucks a little more than the other overtiered bushmaster vehicles, they will always suck regardless, but moving it down will not fix it, as it will just begin to face 7.7 heavies, which will ironically will be even worse for it, vehicles like the badger just don’t have a place.

Rarden are based on actual penetration data not Gaijins janky calc. It will get its time.

I would love to see realistic data but then lets be honest every Russian round would be massively nerfed and if we were using realistic armour data well Russian rounds would not penetrate current NATO mbts and that would be terrible for game balance.

Exept they arent… they are just still using the old penetration calculator which massively buffed the point range penetration due to excessive velocity drop, the info that we have for the l14 was like 45mm /45º at around 2000m, in fact the long range is technically underperforming because it is using the old calculation for apds, had they used the actual gaijin formula and they would match the long range performance.

Also no reason for this apds to get special treatment as literally every other apds in game is subject to the same formula, btw the soviet 30mm apds shares a similar design and performace, even if it gets “realistic” armour data the peformance would still be similar.

Also the sap still have the aphe penetration.

MAKE FALCON AND AMX30 DCA GREAT AGAIN RHAAAAAAAA
Bring back APDS-T, I’m happy to see i’m not the only one thinking that here.
Honestly even if it is moved to 9.0 such as the Chinese SPAA with AHEAD I’ll still enjoy it, too much fun with those APDS DCA.

Yeah ur alone on ts, i just want SPAAs for my lineups man :-;

and I WANT 30x170 APDS-T back, no matter what it takes,
it was real, and it’s really sad it is taken out for balance. Very unique gameplay.

It was extremely frustrating to see players rushing in with SPAAs and killing half of the enemy team. How was that even fair? May aswell just stick to SPAAs if every other single tank can be destroyed by vomiting bullets at it. Even still, I remember being destroyed by a Gepard in my M103 not long ago, which is completely nuts. Keep APDS belts out of SPAAs, do your job as an anti air.

BTW for a French SPAA before the X-30 DCA, wasn’t there a X-13 with and without a radar (with a turret identical to the 30 DCA)? Those could be neat aditions IMO.

honestly yeah with the gap in French SPAAs it would be a great addition to fill that gap with the amx-13 variant without its radar.

It’s french so even though all it takes is to remove the radar from the model and slap it on the AMX-13 chassis it will not happen

tbh it should be apds only so no silly overpressure while still having pen

This would evidently not fix the issue.
