Are players all banned at once, or throughout the month? I thought it was the latter but given the posts that happen around the time of the fair play post, is it the former?
Yeah it does
That happens quite often
Especially when radar missiles randomly lock onto a teammate
Throughout the month I imagine
I watched as one friend got banned then I was randomly banned
It wasn’t all at once
I don´t know how to feel about people being banned for teamkilling.
If you teamkill a friendly nuke? Sure, that should result in a month long ban. I got teamkilled like that twice already and it just feels so… I can´t even describe that feeling to be honest. Then again, why did they not turn TK off for nuke bomber yet? There always will be that someone special going for the nuke TK.
But what about people playing SB? Teamkills are inevitable in this game mode and half the time they look intentional from server replay perspective, but they are not. I myself am getting teamkilled at least twice per match, but I don´t want these people getting banned for it. Either that or disable teamkilling, but then again this is SB. Teamkills should be a part of the SB experience. I also teamkilled, of course (luckily didn´t get a ban for it).
What about killstealing in ARB? People go around the battlefield, never helping out, only come at the end when the fight is already won, you did all the work and they just steal your kill? Your in game mechanics are broken (no proxy rewards, low rewards for assists etc.) so the only punishment against them is a teamkill.
I dunno man. Think you should focus more on the actual cheaters, which are destroying the game right now, rather than wasting time and resources on teamkillers.
Accidents don’t happen. Accidents are caused.
So even if a TK may not have been intentional, many of them can just be atributed to neglect: Not bothering to ID reliably, not bothering to check one’s surroundings, not bothering to check for Blues nearby. Too greedy to get yet another kill.
(And yes, I have committed TK’s as well - but in hindsight every single one of them could have been prevented by one person only: me! If only I had been more aware and careful about the situation…)
So one learns from those mistakes (hopefully) and tries to prevent blue-on-blue as well as possible.
(Btw: Sim player myself, so I know the challenge. Favourite plane is the F-5E FCU, a fighter notable to be at 11.7 in Sim and not having IFF. So far no TK in it yet, but most of the deaths in it due to others TK’in me, most of them even with IFF capable aircraft…)
The tk temp bans are certainly interesting, I wonder if they’ve caused any false-ish bans from accidental TKs that had apologies.
So did you get a 1 hour ban then? Or are mods not affected?
Yes, I can see that. But I do not understand the way you are trying to justify it. TK is a TK. You spoiled battle for someone. You get punished for this. Hope it will teach you to be more careful in future.
I think i can relate
Calculated risk?
My friend
Calculated risk isn’t even an excuse. So everyone that got banned so far they had accidental team kills. That’s what you’re telling me? The mods and WT decided that everyone that has had an accidental team kill would be banned? Did you guys even look at each incidental team kill or did you just ban everyone that had one in the last month?
Really, perma banned? So how many times you “shoot missile and it hits (…) teammate”? Every battle?
Please stop creating drama where there is no drama.
By doing this people wont shot at anything, You want players to tip toe around making the games go slower and take longer
if they counting this aswell we all get banned unfair
AFAIK Today.
Oh so you got banned also??? Also I got 1 day ban for teamkilling and Im not on any list? any comments on that?
Mods aren’t affected no
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again.
Disable teamkilling amongst friendly aircraft for the first two minutes of the match.
The only thing I worry about here is how much investigating was done when looking at the teamkilling instances. There have been multiple instances where a friendly aircraft’s missile gets flares off and subsequently relocks and takes me out instead.
Were intentional teamkills the only one counted, or was it simply done as “You teamkilled, ok here have [X amount of time for ban]”? I’m not trying to question punishing for TK’ing, as I think it’s an entirely valid thing to do, but sometimes a TK happens and it’s entirely outside of your control.
There’s being an idiot and killing a friendly, or being toxic and killing a friendly, and then there’s getting unlucky, and I sure hope people aren’t being punished for being unlucky.
Again, good to see people punished for TK’ing, but in a game where truly accidental Teamkills can happen, I really hope each case is being looked at and genuinely considered.
Maybe Gaijin could implement a “No Live Weapons” for :20 - :30 seconds at the start of each match like they had in the “Duel” events. It would eliminate so many problems . . . no more jackwagons popping smoke all over and peppering team mates with mgs at the start of tank battles. No more tk’s on the airfields in Air RB . … would make the world a better place . . . seems like.
and then if someone was doing these things to team mates, it would clearly be intentional and the penalties could reflect that . . . or something
Just a thought
Sounds Bias to me, If they get to go around the rules and punish us for them.
