Idk I don’t see the problem of one less useful teammate, it’s still one guy who will distract opponents from you and one that won’t take kills away from you
But it’s not just one useful teammate. It’s 2-4 useful teammates. The person who queues the biplane in is almost always going to fool around with him. And there can be up to a squad of 4 players that are fooling around with the biplane player. That’s effectively turning your 16v16 lobby to a 12v16.
I’ve never seen such a thing, everytime I saw a propeller plane at high tiers he was just left alone and became an opponent magnet which was sorta convenient tbh. Never seen the squadmates mess around with him
From my experience, they’d fool around on one of the friendly airfields for the entire game then crash. Not to say all of them do it, but definitely one of the ones I met do.
It kinda sucks, but at the end of the day, it is allowed by the game and people can play however they like.
Better than having a teamkiller who deletes one or two teammates and gets kicked himself from the match.
Speaking of which, I support when either member of the failsquads gets teamkilled, especially when the guy that brought the low tier teammate gets deleted and now has to either go play alone, or watch his teammate being useless in a prop the rest of the match
“Trash is better than garbage and therefore should be tolerated”
It is allowed by the game. What else do you expect? It’s on gaijin’s end to decide to place a low BR range limit to join a match. You can’t really report those players because gaijin won’t do anything because its not against the rules.
We already have Fair Play policies regarding afk players and those who disrupt the game for other players. I’m suggesting this should be extended to failsquadders.
People can say “oh just let them have fun”. Are you completely certain failsquads never disrupt their team’s fun? I don’t find it fun knowing there’s 2-4 people on my team who won’t be contributing the whole match because they’re too busy finding it “funny” that they brought a biplane to jets.
AFK is not the same thing, technically these players are actively playing without breaking any rule.
It would be very easy for Gaijin to stop failsquads by adding a lower BR limit, but they decided not to. Blame the game.
I am not defending them, I think they are very cringe
The biplane player spends the entire match flying in a straight line then dies. That’s literally AFK.
Which is why I’m suggesting they should start looking into it. Is it that they can’t, or they haven’t?
IMHO I think that you can do it as long as two conditions are met. And BOTH must be met, not just one:
- said player is in a game gamemode allowing respawns
- they have to have at least a 1:1 ratio of vehicles from what you’d naturally see in that lineup.(BT-5, T-90, T-80 or something. Not BT-5 BT-7 T-26 BT-7M T-80)
That already happens a lot regardless of the “failsquads”. You suggest punishing bombers, people who sideclimb and still get killed without a fight… ?
They don’t care about it, it would be an easy fix. The game has been like this since its inception.
A way to fight it is for players to build a culture of teamki… I mean, engage in an accidental gun discharge activity against the squadmate who brings the correct BR vehicle, so he is forced to watch his teammate being useless for the rest of the match.
As much as I hate bombers, their viability in WT is a different issue. Oranges, and tomatoes, I love pizza “so you hate waffles” argument. At least they’re playing a correct BR plane?
Players intentionally denying kills via crashing was also a problem that existed since its inception. That was patched a few months ago via the introduction of the crash reward system. Sure, they take forever to fix it, but I rather that they do it eventually than never.
The suicide-crash abuse was something that annoyed almost everyone, and that took how long to get fixed?
Props in jet matches is something that only a small portion of the player base would care to complain about, and another small portion would actively protect it. Most don’t even care about it, and some don’t do it but find it funny to see the occasional WWII bomber or biplane alongside modern jets.
I very much doubt that it will ever be addressed, there are far bigger problems tbh
If there’s anything i know about gaijin is that there’s 0 consistency. They’ve added features no one asked and delayed others to years. But all I’m saying is that it should be considered.
Again, sure, the crash problem took ages to be fixed, but it was fixed. Even after years of discussion where people assumed they’d never add it because why wouldn’t they have done so earlier.
I’ve had a friend bring me to top tier in an L3, and regularly play the M22 with muh Abrams
Just did this out of spite
Now please show us the other 22 games you were in before you got another kill.
People have to get the door, are genuinely unaware because of the ridiculously bad spotting system (I have had people be unspotted as low as 800m behind me with ace crews). Bombers that are flown at their own BR are doing the only viable thing that they can do. No reason to blame them.
You bringing a reserve aircraft into top tier means that you either a) fly in a line for 10 minutes and do nothing because your team won or b) fly in a straight line and catch a R73/9M/ARH missile because your team lost.
It’s arguably just passive behavior and griefing. While I have accidentally discharged a missile at the teammate you mentioned, it is ultimately a banable offense. Do it often enough and you get punished, not the guy being disruptive.
what’s the fun in this?
also kill a vehicle that isn’t less armoured than the m22 and is also aware of the M22
