Fab 5000 VS fab 9000, can some one explain this?

Different explosive fillers
TGA-16 is a more powerful explosive than pure TNT.

If this post is about the TNT mass,

FAB-9000 is a bunker buster a lot of it’s weight is concrete (or some other dense material) to penetrate armored installations or earth.

Lower explosive mass/total mass ratio = better penetration capabilities, better for long term storage

wait if the 9000 is meant to penetrate armored installation shouldn’t the destruction of armored vehicles radius be higher than the fab 5000?

No. The destruction of vehicles is based on how big the explosion is. This is because the explosion travels in all directions. The bunker busting part is made to penetrate the ground/bunker. That is a downward force and not a horizontal one.

Think of it like HE vs AP. The AP will go through armor and do more damage in the direction it is traveling while the HE will do more damage to the things around it.

As Mark said above, basically

9000 is designed to pierce the ground then explode underneath/inside the installation, while 5000 is designed to explode on top of it.

Even with a smaller warhead 9000 could hypothetically do more damage from the fact that the blast would have access to say, tunnels and the sort of the underground target.
