Hi, I was wondering, how come it is possible to destroy a base with 4 Soviet bombs of 500kg (FAB-500 M-46) and not with a bomb of 3000kg?
The total explosives (1300kg of TNT for 4 bombs of 500 and 1400 for a bomb of 3000) is however to the advantage of the bomb of 3000, did I miss something recently that would make that several bombs of smaller caliber do more damage or is it a bug ?

Small bombs/rockets actually deal more damage than the comparable large bombs in explosive mass. The “small bomb bonus” allows you to kill a base with 5 1000lb bombs (US) but only requires 16 250 lb bombs. That is why rockets with hardly any explosive mass can kill a base.
This I wish I knew the answer to, but I am use ot ties to the different damage because of that small bomb bonus.
The rocket part has been nerfed since, but bomb loads remain preferential for many small over one big.
I guess logic might be that multiple small bombs cover a wider area? idk
Anyhow: this will be helpful:
Hey guys, I’ve decided to make my own bomb chart , because there hasn’t been a single accurate and up-to-date one in the last couple years.
Update: 27.09.2024
Hello everyone, I’m back again
I’ve been on a 7 month hiatus working in my Bachelor Thesis.
But I’m done now and I’ve continued work on the chart.
