Can someone tell me why these aircrafts are in 10.3 and 10.7?
Those aircrafts have too many faults and terrible Air to Air armament to be in those BRs.
Both F8s should 10.0; here is a list of the faults of this plane:
Subsonic/Transonic (it wobbles when is reaching 0.99M)
Both got AIM-9Ds; it is a good missiles but it behaves like AIM-9B which you do not have that circle than helps you to shoot more comfortable and to not need to aim the missile straight with a non moveable aim circle.
2.1 In the case for F-8E got the AIM-9C it doesn’t matter if that missile hypothetically overload G is 60G, it cannot be used if the radar cannot lock targets infront of you at close/mid range.
Both F8s have the issue of wing rip when you turn above 900 km/h.
The fast pace roll rate makes both F8s unreliable in dogfights.
Poor ammo rounds.
Both F8s should be minimum placed at 10.0 because of flares cannot go under that BR, of course it would be more favorable if F-8E gets the AIM-9Gs which would be fair (if the F-8E gets the AIM-9Gs it should be placed at 10.3).
I do not see a good reason why this F8s are placed in a BR where they perform poorly, in comparasion to the most common enemy you encounter at that BR (J-7D at 10.7) F-8s lose in dogfights, in mid range engagements 'cause it has 4x 35G missiles.
Firstable I do not understand why add 2 variants of a bad plane to the game, but minimum should be placed in a BR where it can perform averagely.
F-8C (F-8U-2) and F-8E should both go up a step in BR, they’re overpreforming mate, not suffering in the slightest. On top of that the F-8E should get the Aim-9G.
I think you’re trolling, but for anyone else who just doesn’t know we already had the F8U at 10.0 after the wings got buffed and it was an absolute monster. I thought it was incredible at 10.0 even before they made the wings stronger.
10.3 is more than a fair BR for it. It could probably go to 10.7, but its my favorite plane and I’d rather not go up against the MiG-23 premium horde thank you very much. I’ll dogfight a million J-7Ds all day rather than have an R-24 pointed at me from every aspect.
TBF, though the wings are much sturdier than they once were, they’re still liable to turn into cardboard when rolling and pulling at high speed, making defensive posture kind of hard in this plane. That’s its biggest weakness besides not being the fastest plane at its BR.
They are essentially caged AIM-9G’s, much better than 9B’s
They are very situational missiles, worked well before the radar nerf, but 1 chaff and they are useless, at 10.7 they are quite useless now. Don’t use them.
Control your turn and avoid rolling while doing very high G’s, its just a skill/habit thing.
This doesnt make any sense, the faster the roll the better, it helps a lot with nose countering and to correct your aim when the enemy is trying to nose counter you.
They are ok because you also get quite a bit of ammo.
No… But the F-8E could go down to 10.3 because its just a slightly worse F8U-2 after you learn the wing limits. The F-8U-2 has slightly higher TWR, and about 1 ton less weight, it’s the better dogfighter.
F-8E is just slightly faster in a straight line, and you rip the wings at about 1G above where the F8U-2 would rip.
The Aim9C is very situational, only useful in full downtiers against some enemies at altitude.
they are good where they are imo, any lower and it would be too strong, too high and it would be too bad. It has good guns, pretty good flight performance (I’d say it’s American version of mig21), pretty okay missile for the BR, overall a solid 10.3 - 10.7 plane. It USED to sit at 10.0 & 10.3 a while ago and it was one of the best plane at that BR, a bit too strong.
All three F-8s are extremely undertiered. They dogfight better than an F-5 (not exactly a high bar tbf) have great guns (Colt Mk.12) and have great missiles. Aim-9D are near impossible to dodge, and have decent range and flare resistance, and Aim-9Cs are one of the best radar missiles for their BR in Warthunder.
