F8U-2 deserves 10.3 at least

Wingrip is slightly better, but still a problem. Acceleration between mach .97 and .98 is still bugged. Turning with mouse control is still bugged. Aiming is tricky.

The only thing better after br change is that it now only can face 4 F5s…
Downtiers are slightly easier too because some strong 9.0 planes went down to 8.7 no one understand…

I’d have to call that a laughable narrative.

I unlocked this jet the day of the BR update. It’s plain and simple easy mode at the current BR it sits in. In fact, I abused it to grind out the whole next tier of aircraft. Go high, throw 4 missiles to unsuspecting flareless jets below, easily secure 2-4 kills, re-arm, rinse and repeat.

Wing rip is almost non existent if you fly with half a brain and some awareness of overload G’s. I’ve ripped twice since update, and both times I knew I was pushing it too hard trying to secure the kill. Acceleration is fine. Turning and aiming isn’t tricky either.

If you think the F8U-2 is fine where it currently sits, being able to easily secure kills with little thought to it, you’re coping. At least I can admit I abused a completely under tiered jet to advance myself. It needs a change.

its wing rip is infact, not an issue anymore at all i just took it out for a few games to see how it was compared to before hand, and its insane how long it can pull sustained Gs at higher speeds without shredding, you used to try turn at 0.95 mach and blow them off if you didnt air brake and cut throttle down to slow down as you turned.

i had over 200 games with it before they changed the BRs and found teh F8U2 to be amazing even then. now its downright menacing

the f8u is unstoppable at 10.3, but only after you have 100 percent spaded it.

Stock it doesn’t even outrate mig21s and the aim9b’s are atrocious even up close.

It’s faster than almost everything around it, are you okay? It outspeeds, outclimbs and outturns most jets around it. Plus the over-performing 9Ds.

The french F8E and Mirage dont get 9Ds and both are probably some of the slowest supersonics with the french F8E and M3C not getting flares

I also noticed you dont even own any crusader or Mirage 3 so you quite literally dont even know what you’re talking about


The crusader is just barely supersonic

And the mirage is just about mach 1.1 but since it has horrible energy retention you’ll probably never see one doing 1.1
For pure reference the 9.3 Mig-21 does 1.04 at sea level and slightly higher at 9.7 the Mig-21S does mach 1.11

I spent some time last week spading the French F8E and it was a blast.

The lack of flares, while a bummer, was actually a nice exercise on positioning and situational awareness. Moreover, there were several games where I was able to avoid 9L’s due simply to the absurd control surfaces of the plane.

But back to the point of the post, yes, the F8U-2 has no business at 10.0. Just as neither the Ayit or 104s have any business at 9.3.

It’s actually pretty slow for the BR.

Ok, where did “Mirage” and “AIM-9D” relate? F-8E, yes, it’s slow. Mirage III? You will be outrunning your most common opponents.

I think they may just mean theyre too strong to be seeing 9.0 all the time. (Please get A-4N out of 9.3)

Honestly, after the BR changes, all of the flareless aircraft at 10.0 and 10.3 are in a very enjoyable spot now. I had a good time in the F-1 amid everyone calling it trash.

F8U should be 10.7 tbh, the F-8E is easily more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. Ayit is just totally stupid at 9.3, and deserves 10.0, simply because of the missile kit. Even then, it sees a substantial amount of aircraft that can’t realistically defeat its missiles.

You could make a case for the F-104 to stay at 9.3, which i’ll do here. Now that its good flight model has been thrown out the window, with drastic turn performance nerfs, and extreme energy loss, it is now slower nearly all the time, and even an AIM-9B reliably defeats a starfighter now. It is still quite fast, but no longer 1500 km/h @ sea level fast now. Using the speed, sure it can mount a surprise attack, but it is now far more difficult to stay fast.

Ohhh so move it to 9.0 so the Dutch sea hawk premium can fight it with its missiles

There is no way the F104 should stay at 9.3 even with the FM changes… it can consistently outrun eveyrthing at 8.7 hell even most 9.0s cant touch it used right.

its situational for example the ayit to 10.0 is just ridiculous, what would say an ayit do against a damn J7E, or F5E never mind any of the other 11.0s that would crush it never mind it having aim9Ds…

the F8U2 was already busted at 10.0 before the BR changes if you knew how to use it aka not blow its wings off in the first turn, seeing as it had CMs decent FM and a good missile kit. Now though it seriously is ridiculously under BRd and will and does dictate the entire 10.0 to 9.0 area.
though same as the F14 spam a lot of people treat it as an I win button and it still can be shot down easily enough
