Pretty much no difference… The J35 and Mig-21 all fight flareless 9.3s with powerful missles
they should go back to 10.7 the only exception being 10.0 D model with no flares
They won’t survive if uptier a radar missile fire from like 30km with a bad RWR and not alot of countermeasure aswell
just multipath or use any semblance of skill
ye but you got 0 warning of missiles coming for you and some people climb to 10k meter and launch it making multipathing pretty much useless…
what you on about no one at 11.7 has fox-3 massive skill issue
worst thing your gonna fight is a non pulse dop F4E which you can dodge easily
Far less op than j35XS vs F100D which cant dodge your missiles and has worse FM you out perform the F4 and mig 23ml
While my opinion should be omitted as I have never played neither F-8E nor MiG-21MFs and J35XS, I’d say the problem here is far more obvious than just two planes: compression. I usually fight against all of these aircrafts, and let me tell you: it entirely depends on how unlucky you are.
TL;DR: J35XS should be moved upwards but some planes from upper brackets (11.0+) should be moved up as well.
Yapping
You compared F-8E to J35XS and MiG-21MF missile-wise, but you miss out a very important note: AIM-9D is sort of better than AIM-9J and R-60 (not Ms, MF has regular rear-aspect ones). The booster of D’s is better to that of J and even better than R-60’s. In downtiers, when this plane used to be 10.3, it was practically impossible to dodge Ds if you weren’t going supersonic.
J35XS is also fairly agile, and making it 10.3 was absurd AF. The only reason it was downtiered was its terrible quantity of CMs (only 12), but in practice you would need only flares to dodge them IR missiles as SARH missiles are bad at 10.3-11.0 and only start getting annoying from 11.3 and onwards. Its also important to notice it has large calibre ones, so even a single pop can quite easily dodge one. If it wasn’t for CM quntity, it would have stayed still at 10.7.
MiG-21MF is kind of hard to fight if you have no energy advantage, but overall it is quite bearable to face.
Now, moving F-8E yet again to 10.3 will make it atrocious to fight against. I used to grind through Japanese air TTm and oh boy how I enjoyed getting railed by AIM-9D launched from stratosphere and reaching me in my T-2/F-1 under all conditions because these are flareless.
So, overall, gaijoob should move J35XS back to 10.7 but make changes to 10.7+ brackets, like changing J-7Ds BR etc. Because 9.7-10.3 is a very wacky space where flareless jets stand about no chance if they face ones with both good (for its BR) IR missiles AND flares.
arent the flares of the j35XS large caliber ?
Yes they are
It obviously Fox 1 Semi radar missile
9D is far worse than 9J 20 g pull on 9J and uncaged and better flare resistance for a teeny bit of range
It’s not killing you from behind it killing you from the top with 0 warnings and the missle straight away strike the cockpit.
I agree that Ds pull less, but at greater ranges, Ds maintain energy better, making them harder to avoid if player thinks you launched some AIM-9B-level missile
F4E cant lock down towards ground skill issue flying to high cant lock from behind aswell
which you can dodge with a single flare so
damn 10 metres is very high then I wonder what low for you
you cant lock a F4E and hit at 10m
And you ignored my adjacent statement. You avoid ANY non-IRCCM missile with even one pop of flare, but you need, in the first place, HAVE them flares to do that. At 10.3 it violated any plane below 10.3 because most of the planes have no CMs at all at these BR. So you can outflare AIM-9L with single pop in your F-8U because that’s how you do the job, but I can’t do it in my T-2 or F-1 unless I sacrifice a large part of my agility for a mere anti-IR missile protection (unguided rockets are mostly good against front-aspect launched missiles but not rear).
