I agree that Ds pull less, but at greater ranges, Ds maintain energy better, making them harder to avoid if player thinks you launched some AIM-9B-level missile

And you ignored my adjacent statement. You avoid ANY non-IRCCM missile with even one pop of flare, but you need, in the first place, HAVE them flares to do that. At 10.3 it violated any plane below 10.3 because most of the planes have no CMs at all at these BR. So you can outflare AIM-9L with single pop in your F-8U because that’s how you do the job, but I can’t do it in my T-2 or F-1 unless I sacrifice a large part of my agility for a mere anti-IR missile protection (unguided rockets are mostly good against front-aspect launched missiles but not rear).

J35XS problem is quantity of said flares. One thing if you spam them like madman, but another thing is actually having them at all. There is J35D in the same TT, and at 10.0 you can try to play against 10.3+. And the difference in having some sort of protection and none is massive.
which is why i said its a exception for the j35D which should have flares since it tested them and again there large caliber so 1 flare dodges most missiles and anything you can dodge like A10C you can keep distance
Idk what it tested but as of rn, it has no CMs, and so most of other planes at that BR and below, and there is no way some 9.3 MiG-21 with R-3S being the best choice should be put against F-8E as you suggest
no no no not the Chinese plane it always the chinese player. they fly so high on the map and just send missle out and everyone dies on my team and non chinese player are much more easier to beat sometimes.
I think Both F-8E and F8U need to be 11.0
-only when everything higher (from MiG-21bis to F-15E as example) goes even higher.
While J35XS, MiG-21SMT and J-7D also need to go one step higher in same condition.
Problem is heavily condenced BR radius by Gaijin’s purpose.

Well tbf the XS also has 2 more missiles over the J35D model, the XS also loses a gun making gun kills very difficult given the slow rpm and horrible accuracy. It makes the XS infinitely more worthless when out of missiles than the D but the D has no countermeasures. Additionally the J35’s are.some of the most fuel hungry jets for thwir BR and on any EC map need to fly at 70% thrust for the majority of the map or fly with 2 missiles missing in order to carry fuel tanks.
Id say if certain 10.7’s and 11.0+ jets got moved up the XS would be better at 10.7 but without RWR it cant play to its strength of flying to 4km up and top downing people. With its poor energy after the consecutive FM nerfs its not really a plane id want to buy. Realistically id just wait for more decompression cause the XS isn’t solely ruining a BR when we have multiple jets doing that already lol

Holy shit, now that’s kind of true. Being subsonic and bleeding speed in about one turn yet everytime fighting something like J-7D with just 2 rockets is painful AF.
A7K at 11.3 is an actual crime btw if you haven’t played it
I didn’t, I spaded Thai A-7E (the same as the US) and it was so dogshit I enjoyed fighting said Crusaders in my F-1 more than anything on Corsair II

A7K is an A7E with aim 9L and less ammo but two pilots, its brutal at 11.3 ARB
