Plus, .50s are some of the best guns on propeller aircraft, they’re easy to aim, have good range, and they do decent damage. The only downside is that they are almost always wing mounted.

No, it isn’t, HO229 has a faster top speed and high-speed acceleration when it is over 700km/h. the energy retention is because HO229 has better maneuverability.
Yes it is similar, but acceleration and top speed is worse, if they move to 7.7, then will suffering F84G and better Meteor like mk8, but it has better fire power.
MK108 is pretty hard to use, and that’s why I insist that 262 needs to 6.7, which might save German JU288 players
The top speed difference isn’t that large, and the Ho-229 doesn’t have the acceleration to use all of it. Get the Horten to turn once, and it’s an easy kill due to its awful energy retention.
For F80, that is useless, Ho229 can catch you very easily with high-speed acceleration, and the only way F80 can do is cancer roll because HO229 is hard to aim at high speed, once in low speed the F80C is like suicide, even the low speed acceleration difference isn’t large as well.
Dont get stuck at low speed, You fight the 229 the same way a P-51 fights a Zero, Don’t dump all of your energy in flat turns and B&Z instead.
F-80s feel quite fine where they are, quite good planes. Only problem is they are immediately outclassed by planes one small step above them. Sabres and Migs at 8.0 and 8.3 can dance all over them. 7.3 has already got enough good planes, like Sea Meteor/SU11/ME262C-1, F80c drop to 7.3 is doesn’t matter, and the same with F9F-2, I don’t know how could they against 8.0 jets like MIG15ish or F86A
