Zuni pods only add 4 tons to your already large mass and 0.6 kgf of parasitic drag when you use all of them and a gun pod.
Zuni rockets can double as a lighter, more flexible alternative to bombs, and you SHOULD bring some form of CAS. That’s the F-4C Phantom’s entire point. It was literally built for doing both jobs at once.
F-4C use to be the equivalent of 10.7 prior to a decompression a few years ago, then it sat at 10.3 for a while post-decompression until it went back to 10.0.
It’s fine where it is, and no the F-4D was the earliest variant to get a countermeasure system.
And? It affects EVERY aspect of the flight model. Even if you AREN’T a turnfighter, nerfing your already poor turn is a very bad thing. It makes you even more vulnerable to interception.
Ground targets are very bad to target until after the initial furball is settled… you are just going to be not helpful and out of position until that point. Even then, ground targets dont win the match. You’re just grinding rp and sl but not in a way that is productive towards winning.
This is war thunder. Nobody should care what the aircraft did irl, especially when it started life as a purebred fleet interceptor with no role in bombing or cas. What matters is how it performs in game and there’s no reason to play the F-4C with ground attack weapons in air RB.
Your manual isn’t on the first F-4s… it’s on the later variants. They had already changed the doctrine. Also, I’m going to ask you once and once only to not claim I’m lying just because I said something you disagreed with or you think is wrong. Lying is an intentional act of deceit.
You shouldn’t be playing in a way that puts you in a circumstance where it matters.
The map is large and I never said you had to do it first. It’s a fighter-bomber… Pick what fits in the moment. That’s the point of being multi-role.
I’m not telling you how to play your jet. I gave a legitimate tip for someone wishing they had flares in a plane that won’t get them. Not only that, but I went further and gave them a flexible makeshift option that can help them stock-grind their aircraft.
Why are you being so aggressive?
There are plenty of reasons, but you’ll do better in Nuclear Thunder once you’re above 8.7 now.
That same logic could be applied to the F-15 and F-16, which are also known for their multi-role CAS options to this day.
Right now we’re talking about the F-4C, and the F-4A and F-4H-1 are not relevant to the discussion and were very early models of the airframe. By claiming the F-4C isn’t a fighter-bomber, as you did before, you lied. When I called you out on it, you shifted the goalposts. Do better.
That’s not how the game works, further, 3rd time saying this I think, it nerfs your acceleration/climb/top speed by equal amounts to your agility so you’re going to have less say on when people intercept you anyway
haha you playing a different game than me? Every single air RB map has all the ground targets in the same local area except EC maps which just barely have ground targets at all
It’s just bad to do this in air RB. You are just losing games by trying to “attack ground” which doesn’t affect winning the match but DOES heavily nerf your ability to do air to air.
I’m not.
There aren’t. There are zero. It’s just a detriment to winning.
Using what? F-4C doesn’t get guided ordinance
I’m not aware of their history as much but if it fits, then its correct? Sure?
That’s not how lying works. I asked you once, now you’ve lost my respect.
This also isn’t accurate. Now you are the one lying. Do better. Who’s being aggressive now with the constant accusations of lying and arrogant af “do betters?” Take a look at how you come off.
You are a flying brick. You should not be relying on agility. If you expect to be faster than a single aircraft, you are delusional.
Nuclear Escalation is the game mode for the F-4C.
30,000 games and you don’t know what happens when you destroy every ground unit on the map in air RB.
Anti-rads, bombs, napalm…?
The F-4C/D/E is a fighter-bomber. The F-15E is a fighter-bomber. The F-16C/D is a fighter-bomber.
You said the F-4C wasn’t a fighter-bomber, which isn’t true. You know about the F-4A and F-4H-1, as seen by your earlier reply, which implies you DO know the F-4C is a fighter-bomber because the flight manuals explicitly state it.
We are talking about the F-4C, not the F-4A or F-4H-1. By diverting the discussion to those to make your point somewhat true, you are shifting the goalposts. Your original claim was the F-4C isn’t a fighter-bomber.
You further shifted the goalposts by stating, “This is War Thunder; no one should care what it did IRL”, which is a Motte and Bailey fallacy.
You recognized your initial claim was too bold and walked it back to a safer claim, knowing you couldn’t hold it.
Read the part I’ve said three times where it affects ALL ASPECTS OF THE FLIGHT MODEL AND NOT JUST AGILITY
Not really. No guided ordinance.
Nothing? The game doesn’t end. Tickets don’t matter either unless you either fully drain them or if the timer runs out. 99.9% of games end by one team dying.
All it has are anti-rads, the other two are pointless for NT.
I said the phantom didn’t start as one, and you implied it did.
Nope. You just have a hard time understanding what I’m saying, evident by how I have had to repeat 4 times that the agility of the plane isnt the only thing being nerfed.
You don’t know what actually wins games in WT unfortunately. Nor do you understand even a tiny bit on what actually changes regarding the FM since you seem to keep thinking only agility changes. You also don’t have the capability to understand that the agility changing is a big deal even if the jet shouldnt be dogfighting.
Agility is an umbrella term for most flight aspects.
Anti-Rads and Bullpups are very present. Not to mention, Zunis and Bombs are perfectly usable if you fly smart.
If you kill every enemy ground unit, the enemy loses. This has been established since the game came out.
You kill all of these, and you win.
You can bomb depots reliably from low-level flight with bombs. It’s really not hard.
That wasn’t your initial statement, nor the point of the discussion when it comes to the F-4C, as the topic is about.
The F-4C/D/E have always been fighter-bombers since they were designed. The topic we are discussing in has always been about the F-4C, and the F-4A and F-4H-1 are not in War Thunder, nor were they built for the same task.
I don’t really care what you’re saying. You brought up two planes that aren’t even in War Thunder to argue on the forums with a person who has the flight manuals for all of them, simply because I suggested the rocket trick, which is a method many players use to cope with a lack of flares.
The F-4 is not an agile bird and should not be used in an agile role. If you want the most efficient and reliable rewards, it is best to load into Nuclear Escalation with Anti-Rads and bombs to hunt Depots, with a side job of taking out reckless enemies who fly too high.
That’s funny coming from a guy who doesn’t even know how ticket bleed works. Do you think the AI ground unit numbers are for show? Lol.
No it isn’t. Remember you talking about goal posts?
Anti rad is the only option here
They aren’t viable. You are wasting your time trying this.
Nope. Not actually how the game works. Try it. Especially since nobody has ever actually done this lmao.
Go ahead, try to kill 58 tanks alone. See how far you get.
That is all you can do with bombs and other people have to do all the actual work to clear spaa/fighters for you to do so. You’re also going to die to the first jet that has all aspects.
Ok let me rephrase and dumb it down for you, the F-4C is not a good jet for NT
I’m sure that happened, surely, and not just them bleeding the tickets enough, which is an entirely different mechanic.
Nobody else is going to magically spawn in with the same objective as you. Ergo, you are not going to do this.
And you can’t, because it doesn’t actually happen, not that it is literally impossible.
You did not. You haven’t done so once.
Nothing has been shifted, you just don’t understand the english language all that well and make brash assumptions about what has been said based on your heavily flawed interpretation.
Was there not some kind of external countermeasure pod that might have been used? Also it seems that the F4C has some kind of internal gun stub on the nose but no internal gun?
