LMAOAO, F-22 ain’t coming this year.

I’m pretty sure we are gonna get GTA10 before F22

december 2025 isnt that unreasonable when you see jump from 70’s F-15A to 2003 EFT and 2019 rafale in one year, same would apply with F-22, only reason im not saying june is that they save this hype stuff for december usually

Womp womp

And why is that?

hmmmm we don’t have a 70’s F-15A.
tho I’m hopeful 5th gens will fix gameplay by nerfing the boring fox 3 meta, and the F-22, SU57, J20, etc., won’t be much too different from the current stuff as far as flight performance goes. RCS mechanics on the other hand, afawk, are very primitive right now and need a lot of refinement.

supercruise on F-22 will be insane, 1.82 mach on dry thrust, and TVC will help too in low speed. other big improvement will be things like radar. also the Su-57 and J-20 are more F-35 than F-22 counterparts

the F-15A is from early 1970s, if you are referring to flares on it, then that would make it mid/early 80’s

still a big jump to go from that to EFT and Rafale, Rafale from 2019 and EFT from mid/late 2000s

Isn’t Chinas J-35 supposed to be the counterpart to the US F-35?

thats a block 4/5 F-35 counterpart

Yeah, MSIP for F15 would be 1986 iirc, else we could argue the Rafale is a 80s aircraft since its tech demonstrator flew around that time.

For flight performance, the claimed M1.6-1.8 is at 40k+ ft. At sea level, it’s iirc a M1.2 aircraft, also limited to M2.0 irl because of the stealth coating. F15 (especially the EX) is faster, goes just as high and most airframes nowadays are 9G rated, they’re not too dissimilar in that sense. I suppose it could accelerate faster at lower speeds, but 4th gens generally have better aerodynamics. There’s a post in the su57 vs f22 thread where sources for all that info are posted.

TVC… pilots irl don’t like it because of the extra weight affecting the performance negatively and not helping in sustained turns, while high AoA pulls are rarely effective (cobra cough cough). Besides the test figure of 60 AoA for the YF22, we also know of ~110 AoA pulls on the F22, again not different from Flankers and iirc the Rafale/EF can pull that as well. Anyhow, I think TVC will be bad in WT, energy bleed is rarely worth it, but maybe we’ll get a preview on that with some upcoming Flankers.

Finally, the F35 is better is many senses over the F22, don’t dismis it so fast :p

limited to 2.25 but yeah, according to pilot who flew both EFT and F-22, the low speed handling was a big advantage of F-22, seeing as the F119 just produce so much power itll be able to regain speed fairly quick. And I never dismissed the F-35, its a great jet but ofc has drawbacks like every aircraft

hmmmm… M2.0 according to some lectures such as this, I think Paul Metz/Tom Morgenfeld said said something about tests at 2.25, but limited to M2.0 because of temperature destroying the coats (iirc 457 F), I don’t remember it by heart tbh. It’s on another of those lectures though.

dont they have to redo RAM coating every so often? they very well couldve changed the coating to not get destroyed at mach 2 since he last flew the jet. could even be referring to YF-22

Yeah, I believe the coatings did get better, there are some sources saying they tried applying newer tech developed from the F35, but I’m not aware of a source explicitly saying the temperature limit was raised.
Jim Brown, F-22 flight envelope & temp limit, shows the same M2.0 cutoff, he’s even points the limitation on the envelope coming from temperature, this is on the F-22s, though, not the prototype.

I put it on my short list, along with F-35.
AIM-120C and AIM-9M.
F-22 gets 6 store positions, F-35 can bring 4 radar missiles internally, IR missiles are external only initially.

Gaijin doesn’t need to add AIM-120C5+ or AIM-9X to add stealth fighters with historical loadouts.

People really be asking “why shouldn’t we add the F22” into the game. These thread and these people keep proving why we can’t have nice thing in the game. Do you guys even play top tier and see the state of it

Because the F-22 really shouldn’t be that far off? We have the Eurofighter which people constantly say beats the F-22… So what is the argument that we can’t have it? He also said in the year. Not next patch. So calm down

Lmao , XD even. “End of 2025” is next year , sure bro. And I don’t care what people said , it doesn’t matter if the EF can beat the F-22 irl or not. What I am interesting in is the state of the game and top tier along with the newer stuff being added in the future, if all you can do is listen to what other people said then might as well not talk.
