Why on earth does the USA’s most expensive premium jet the f20a have such a bad payload it’s ridiculous for 120 Australian dollars or around 70 usd you get a f5 with a paint job a new engine radar but then you also get limted to 45 countermeasures in a tier where fox 3 missiles are a threat plus you don’t get any fox 3 missiles like the aim-120 even thought it was able to be armed with aamram missiles. It would be nice to see it either get a BR adjustment to 13.0 but give it aim-120s especially because it’s current missile payload sees you getting less aim7f’s than the f-4s and the counterpart is you get the aim-9ls which are seen as early as 10.3BR on the A-10A. Also on another note the sales on the f20 might go up as a result of this due to it actually being an aircraft worth the price because if you think about it why would anybody in the right minds buy the f20 if it has less countermeasures, less payload, and underpowered missiles for its tier. It’s a no brainer to buy the cheaper F-4S.
My guess was that, given consideration for all it’s other traits, it wasn’t given 120s so that it didn’t need to be placed at a BR where it would be clubbed. Fox 3s would see it upped to 13.3 where it wouldn’t be good.
