11.3 would be fine for me, too, but not 11.7 (I know you didn’t call for that, too) since that is where the F-4E sits at with 4x L and Sparrows.
We both agree there.
People underestimate the F-4F’s maneuverability.
Maybe due to lack of practice, but there’s a reason it’s strong and Germany upgraded their’s to ICE standard instead of purchasing F-18s until Typhoon was ready.
Granted, I know it can sound like I’m over-estimating them, but I’m using my F-4F and EJ Kai experience to dictate my stance.
And EJ Kai doesn’t have agile eagle, and I still think it’s more than competitive at 11.7.
If EJ Kai could be given AMRAAMs I’d say it go to 12.7 minimum just as I say F-4F ICE should.
The ICE with its full equipment (IRIS-T + AMRAAMs), could easily handle the current top tier jets and would buy Gaijin a few more years, before the Eurofighter becomes necessary.
That’s cause IRIS-Ts would be OP as they’re R-74/R-73M equivalent, not R-73 equivalent.
IRIS-T would warrant adding AAM-5B [not standard AAM-5], AIM-9X Block 2, Python 5, etc.
An F-18C with Sparrows would be balanced for 12.7 though IDK if Swiss Hornets ever used Sparrows.
I’d anticipate the F-18A coming soon at 12.3 for context.
Yeah, I think they could add 100 Swiss vehicles to the German tree and no one would mind, its a good place for their stuff. The problem was what they added and the fact they havent added a “late” hunter equivalent to the British Tree yet
Nor did any Gripen use Skyflash as far as I am aware. I think at this point, it doesnt overly matter.
Exactly, nobody complained about the indian premium either, only t90S
Yeah, they could have added any number of British exports, instead they added a soviet export. Many would have prefered the Indian Sea Harrier over the Sea harrier FRS1 as our SQV (so long as the FRS1 also came to the TT)
could added so many other things that were unique but they went for a T90
And if it couldn’t be unique they could have at least used something from the Western Dominions.
Smin denied Dutch aircraft for Germany, however he did not deny the possibility of seeing an F-16 there.
working in various ranks? That sounds like an Alpha jet on the way!
IIrc it was only that there are no more vehicles planned atm. So it doesn’t rule planes like the F-18 out especially because it’s more or less a easy c&p plane
Splitting the FRS was an awful decision.
And yeah the Al Hussein comes to mind as an EXCELLENT sqn vehicle, or the vickers mk.4 or Osorio (provided they don’t have plans for the SA subtree, even then they could still give us the L11 prototype).
Well that is simply brilliant heartwarming news. I’m absolutely delighted at such mutual appreciation and neighbourly love. I hope the Germany tech tree can now be filled to the brim with all things Dutch. Hopefully Germany will receive the Windmill powered Panther used in Arnhem and Tulip firing Focke Wulf that featured so heavily in the battle of Britain.
Cheers
The Challenger Falcon also looks really unique
2 years late but finally!
Can you give us a hint of which nation could be added to Germany to help bolster its ranks?
I can very much see a “trainer” update to follow suit of the AMX, Alpha Jet and Hawk would be Awesome additions
There’s nothing to understimate. F-4F can not compete with 4th gen airframes in WVR combat, and definitely not in a dogfight. I’ve carried out many mock dogfights between the current in-game F-4F & 4th gen airframes (Tornado included!), and I was getting stomped by them, even the Tornado stood a chance (you know, possibly the worst platform you’d use to dogfight anybody).
Can it ocassionally win a dogfight? Yes, at it’s BR. Can it do it like a MiG-29 or F-16 or F-14B do? Absolutely not. It will be an AMRAAM bus, nothing more, nothing less.
Maybe due to lack of practice, but there’s a reason it’s strong and Germany upgraded their’s to ICE standard instead of purchasing F-18s until Typhoon was ready.
The entire reason why they upgraded them is because;
- Money. Money. Money.
They already had hundreds of those in their inventory, and upgrading them is far cheaper than acquiring a new fighter model, especially when the EFT was only ~10 years away. Germany barely gave any shits about their Airforce at that point in time, the entire budget belonged pretty much to the Army only, until 1991 that is, cus then cuts happened, so can’t acquire a new fighter model without industrial benefits anyways.
