Why Vihkir doesnt spin like that in game?
It would be too hard for the soviets to hit anything if it did that in game.
Most missiles in game are too stable, it’s not just the vikhir
If brit mains can hit tanks with starstreak then why cant the soviet mains do that. Gaijin clearly spoiled them.
Rolling airframe atgms specifically
Not really. Gaijin tried to implement realistic flight path for most of the air launched missiles.
It shouldn’t cause any difficulties to guide vihkirs since its laser guided. We just need to point it at the target.
It might make hitting a moving target, like a heli or jet much harder. Depends how good the missile is at getting onto target in the last second
Starstreaks use 2 alternating beams for accuracy iirc, they don’t have proxy fuse and are mostly meant for air targets
I said it as an example since star streak spins a lot.
No, what i mean is, the vikhr has to be set before you take off, to either do direct fire against tanks, or proximity detonation against air targets. Gaijin basically allowing the missile to do things, its not able to do.
I don’t know where you got that information from. Proxy fuse is activated before launch in the cockpit, otherwise this would be a pointless feature
No documentation in that post, just his words
Do you actually think a proximity based missile can detonate against other missiles, but then still hit a tank with that proximity based fuzed missile? Its the same reason the BMP-2M missiles are not both Direct and proximity based.
The Vihkrs isn’t designed like that.
They removed vikhr dueling almost a year ago, realistic or not. The only way you can proxy other missiles is by having your missile less than 1m away from the opposing missile, by then probably oscillations alone are able to detonate it.
FM-3 isn’t even a HEAT warhead, why would a man portable atgm meant for tanks and fortifications have a proxy, it will make it larger and heavier, and on the ground it’s easier to bring multiple rockets regardless
Then that would mean the Vihkr Missile should also detonate 1 Meter away from any ground vehicle. You see the problem with that?
so should the adats and every other spaa missile then by your logic
The Adats missile was designed to do both using the laser proximity detonation, and it wasn’t reliable.
So does the vihkr…
