If/when the f14d comes out would it get to use amraam since the radar could technically fire them or no since it was never actually tested

given gaijin’s precedent with “what could have been” vehicles (the prime example being the yak-141), it pretty much just ought to get them. as far as i heard, the radar was compatible, so were all the hardpoints (any hardpoint that can carry AIM-7Ms can carry AIM-120s), pretty much the only thing left to do was a software update. it really would not a strech to give it AIM-120s.
and it’s a good decision even in terms of balance. because otherwise, you’d have what’s basically a slightly upgraded F-14B, and it’d be very much redundant. it would either sit at the same BR, meaning it’d be just plain better, or it would be higher, where it would be constantly uptiered against aircrafts much better than it. giving it AMRAAMs and putting it at 13.7 would work well.
i personally feel like it should get AIM-152s and AIM-95s too. you know, just to make it that much more unique. (tough these would be much less justifiable for a lot of reasons).

It was only ever tested on one F-14D of unknown capabilities.
So I expect F-14D to have AIM-7s and AIM-9Ms as its primary anti-fighter weaponry.
That’s not precedent, and has never been precedent.
Yak-141 is not a production vehicle, and mentioning Yak-141 is admitting your entire post is wrong [Ho-229 and Kikka are the OG prototypes that set PROTOTYPE precedent, not Yak-141.]

Considering that the whole point of the Super Tomcat program was to upgrade the airframe to be as modern as it’s contemporaries (Hornet, mostly),yes.
Basically take the F-14B and add a better radar,IRST,AIM-9L/M,AIM-7M,AIM-120,AIM-54C,dumb ordnance,Paveways and JDAMs and maybe an HMD?

I would love to have the 14-D in the game. i just dont see where it would fit in. The D would have the same load out as the C just with better engines and radar, it would not get the 120’s at the phoenix was its bvr missile.
bruh I still can get 2-3 kills even in 13.7 with F-14IRAF

the F14 generally tested the AIM 120’s which would be a good event thing (only 2 AMRAAM’s and the cannon).
So I hope for that, but with the yak 141 we also could get the supertomcat, but at that point I wont play this game anymore
