I support your idea that the F-15A is very weak now, US needs an aircraft with excellent radar and airframe to fight against the Su-27. I think it is appropriate to the F-14B.
Just add the F14D with 9Ms and call it a day
AIM54C is still effective at suppressing stronger BVR opponents by virtue of being ARH, but given the Su27 loadout, it could use a buff
I as literally coming here to post this!!! With the addition of the Gripen, F-15 and Su-27, I think I think it would be only fair to give the F-14B the aim9m. This would make the matchmaker more diverse and help the f14 be relevant in the game longer!
A whole nother 410k RP and 1.3M SL for 9Ms, IRST and radar… can’t wait.
Just give the 14B 9Ms and bump it up to 12.3.
Super Tomcat can have AMRAAMs along with it’s new radar.
if they give the F14D AMRAAMs im fine with the B getting 9Ms
The F-14B doesn’t need AIM-9Ms, every top tier vehicle doesn’t need to be meta. The F-14B is a good multirole at 12.0 instead of 12.3 so enjoy the lower BR.
Not everything has to be bolded yet here we are.
I’m not your buddy, guy
Life of the party you are.
Anyway, these kinds of situations highlight the shortcomings of the current implementation of the BR system. Due to compression, 12.0 is the same as 12.3 given the distribution of vehicles playing at the moment. A sudden influx of players at one particular BR shouldn’t suck up the lower bracket as much as it does.
It’s a lower BR, but only by 0.3 difference. That doesn’t really matter when you’re constantly uptiered to 12.3 matches anyway.
Edit: That’s why I don’t even bother playing tanks between 10.3 and 11.7. For me it’s one of the two, or none.
Because 10.7, 11.0, and 11.3 will face 11.7, and I don’t see the point in playing at such a huge disadvantage. That is just my opinion though, it’s alright if you disagree.
9L is a joke now though. It’s been nerfed so badly that it goes for the first flare on a rear aspect afterburner <1.0km. Unacceptable at 12.0. Never thought I’d say this but the R60M seems more flare resistant rear aspect.
That being said Phoenix are still the only ARH, and the 9M are overtuned so leave it like this I guess
Hilarious considering a bug report was acknowledged that would buff it’s seeker in regards to lock ranges.
The issue is mainly with the seeker not turning off when there are flares and reacquiring through walls of flares. I’m done volunteering my time for reports though, they’ve got an agenda and it’s pointless to do anything that doesn’t support it
The issue is, 54C is faily balanced. I’ve spaded both Tomcats recently and I was getting consistant kills with Phoenixes, approx 2 per 1 kill, the same ratio of any other missile in the tomcat arsenal
If they introduce better Fox 3 missiles, meta could be shifted from bad (clusterfcks of a mess) to worse (click on radar spots, launch, back to base, rinse and repeat)
I’ve said it million times, realism is not fun and this is, after all, a game
Noone is saying we need the AIM9X or AIM120 right now.
Though the AIM120A/B may quite well not be what people hope for. Odds are they’ll still get killed by the 27ER that is superior at long range.
Getting the NATO radar buffed to make the AIM7 more reliable would already be a good start. Or the AIM7MH or AIM7P that would perform similar to the 27ER.
It really isn’t balanced. It’s one of the worst missiles at top tier right now when it could be a viable counter to the R27ER. It is missing features that would make it more usable. It’s good at punishing those not paying attention.
That is going to happen very soon, like first or second major update of the year.
