I Think it’s really need this thing. The AIM 9L is now useless now in DEV sever, when Su 27, J11 and JAS39 had a large caliber flare. Now when F14B fire the 9L in rear aspect for those plane, is so useless
now.

The only F-14 that should get 9Ms is the F-14D. The F-14B needs its AIM-54C fixed so it can actually be usable. If the F-14B actually could keep its distance, the 9L problem would cease to be a problem

ever tried the R-60 during all the years it was the only IR missile for germany or russia?

I agree that but now you got R-73 R27ER,they are best missile in game bro, It’s good then nato AAM now. And you told R-60 is the only missile for USSR and geramany rigth, don’t for get nato plane have only rear aspect missile and didn’t have PD mode bro.F4J war the first time that i use the PD mode and F14B was first time that i use the 9L. (oh i for get it only 12.0 br it will be ok if they fix macthmaking XD)

I Hope they add the D variant in the March update. Or even the A late. (I didn’t use the pheonix, also i use the AIM 9 x4 AIM 7 x4.) But i remember the A late and the B can carried 9M in mid 1980-2000.

tolerance and resilience is what got me to top tier. try to just bear it for a while until they release the next broken american jet.
uhh… aim9L has been in game for a long time… and the aim 9H (i think) is also nearly an all aspect missile, coupled with missile complements, NATO sides have always had more missiles.
so quality vs quantity. doctrine vs doctrine.
bro even if the eastern side had PD, they didnt have the cracked aim7s from like, teir 6.
plus the only good SARH missiles russia had were the r-23,24Rs and thats restricted to two aircraft. while all phantoms except the german one can carry like 4 aim 7’s.
air RB has been american dominant but i dont complain.
not to say that this update is fair.
i think the issue is more like we need only 6v6 at max and maintain the map size

F14A folder
-F14A early (same loudout) 11.7
-F14A late (9L 7M 54C) 12.0
F14B folder
-F14B (9M 7M 54C) 12.0 or 12.3
-F14D (9M 7P or AIM120 if they add) 12.3 or 12.7
I think if Top Gun movie didn’t came at that momemt, F14A wouldn’t use the early model like that and didn’t came in that patch. that’s patch IR was good then the later pacth like they said they rework the IR missile. I like to see SU27 and J11 come in this pacth but i just want IR missile that can compare with R-73.

down the line a Iranian one could be added as a event or premium would have R73 instead of sidewinders

I dont think they can. US had like 1.8 years of aim7e vs r3r but now that we have had less than a year of aim7m vs r27-er, “US has suffered for long enough and needs aim9x and aim120 NOW!”

AIM-54C doesn’t use bank-to-turn it just keeps the pitch point towards target vector… pitch point is between the control surfaces (X config).
This is because it requires significant AoA to achieve necessary maneuverability, and in “+” configuration it loses airflow over one of the 4 control surfaces. From there, if a roll command is issued it causes instability and oscillations. X configuration is used to mitigate these issues in almost every tail control missile. To include the AIM-120.
