I’d rather fight MIG19 and SU25 or A10, Harriers than this thing. You can never catch up with them. It’s ridiculous.

F-104 is madness at this BR, indeed. Dunno how US community always gets through with these downtiers. The German F-104 got its BR bumped from initially 10.0 to 10.7. Us one get it lowered it to 9.3.

Speed is the only advantage F104A/C has. Also it should be considered that 9.0-10.7 is a extremely compressed br range. In most matches you will face enemies that has higher br than you and has better flight performance(e.g Mig 21s).
BR 9.3 on paper looks madness for F104 because you may think it could get downtiered to 8.3 but that is extremely rare. F104 has speed but it lacks proper air to ground weapons and flares which makes it unsuitable for 9.7 or 10.0. Also F104 isnt the only super sonic jet in that br range. Su-7s are also untouchable for most jets though Su-7s are mostly bots these days.Things get even worse when you face A-5Cs they have 35g missiles at such low br where a lot of jets dont get flares.
This is why BR decompression is needed so slow jets with bad missiles and no flares wont face super sonics or jets with all aspect missiles.

I don’t know why people say this. It’s both not true and also doesn’t matter anyway even if you believe it. The F-104 also has an incredible gun, good high speed handling, amazing roll rate, great climb rate, extreme acceleration, etc. It’s also 9.3. Ludicrous BR… came into the game at 9.7 and QUICKLY got uptiered to 10.0 because it wasn’t fair but people now want to believe 9.3 is fair…

Except it is bassically true… it has a turn radius comparable to that of Pluto.
The acceleration and climb rate are not unique, even at this BR, as stated Lightnings and Su-7’s are comparable… it has counters.
They all need to go up, I’ll grant that, but there’s nowhere for them to go up to, until meaningful decompression happens this remains unchanged. If you move one and not the others then you’ll just be back here the following day saying X is untouchable, and it will be because Y is no longer there to counter it.
